The engineers at Columbia 300 understand that when naming a ball the Benchmark, the performance has to live up to its name. New Standard Reactive provides the perfect amount of traction in order to work on most typical house patterns and a great variety of tournament patterns. One of the four colors poured in the Benchmark is a pearl silver color, making it a Hybrid and creating the right amount of length.
The Columbia 300 Tri-Rib core is symmetric in shape with a medium RG and medium to high Differential. The Tri-Rib core provides the numbers you look for in a Benchmark ball and will work with the widest variation of styles.
The 4000 grit Abralon finish applied to N.S.R. Hybrid along with the Tri-Rib core creates a great amount of mid-lane read and continuation through the backend. The Benchmark will work on most typical league patterns and medium volume tournament patterns.

COMMENTS This ball will fit in between the Outburst and Eruption, I drilled mine up with a 4 1/2 pin from PAP, pin below bridge and a hole by thumb. This ball was a little cleaner through the front part of the lane, and more continous on the backend than the Outburst. But not as clean through the front part of the lane, and not as sharp on the backend as the Eruption. I threw this ball on fresh oil, the ball hit really really good. Also the colors of this ball looked really good going down lane, they blended well together.This is another winner by our brand manager Bugsy Kelly and Columbia 300

The Benchmark is the newest ball released by Columbia 300, it is 3 part solid and one part pearl. Giving it the length of a Pearl Ball and the strength and roll of a Solid, Mid Lane to the Pocket. This ball will give you skid through the heads and then pick up with a nice heavy roll of continuation to the Pocket. This ball is recommended for Medium to Heavy Oil, but is very versatile on many different conditions because of its Hybrid Shell.

Likes: The ball rolls clean through heavier oil. The core and cover together do not burn midlane creating a nice continuation on the backend. And wow does it hit hard!

Likes:I don't know that Columbia 300 could have created a more fitting name for this piece of equipment. The Benchmark has that strong and smooth arc that you are looking for to build an arsenal around. I've had the opportunity to use this ball on the THS and the USBC pattern from Reno this past year and I'm very happy with what this ball gives me!

In my league (that uses the USBC pattern) the Benchmark has been a great piece of equipment for all 3 games. It gives you the even read you're looking for on the fresh. Then as the pattern breaks down and the lanes forces you to start moving in, with a hand position change to get around the ball a little more this ball continues to strike. In the 2 weeks I've had the ball I'm averaging over 230 and have had my 2 best sets of the season.

On your THS this ball retains energy very well and is quite forgiving to those slight mistakes we all make. The coverstock on the Benchmark is also very versatile! It takes to shine very well and still retains the similar roll characteristics that the ball has out of the box.

Overall, the Benchmark is a ball I would recommend to all styles. The Benchmark will be exactly that in your arsenal, and I know all bowlers love having that "go to" ball in their bag and this ball will definitely be that!

Columbia300 fans finally have that ball that we were missing in our arsenal ...The Benchmark... Finally we have a Hybrid the best of both worlds....

Likes:when shiney goes to long and solid hook to soon and you cant get away from that over under reaction or the lanes are just spotty the Benchmark is the perfect goto ball.... This is defenitely the best all aroung lineup from Columbia300 yet

Dislikes: not really a dislike but dont be afraid to swith when it starts to overhook... I shined one of mine up and wasnt excited about it

Likes: This ball is great for a fresh THS and a few of the lighter volume sport patterns. it gives a really nice downlane transition towards the pins and hits with authority! I have had success playing both straight and a slight swing with this ball. It doesn't seem to want to recover very well when trying to get much farther inside fourth arrow, but I have yet to play with the surface very much.

Dislikes: Out of box finish seems to be a little oil-sensitive, bowlers on longer patterns or that are on carrydown will soon find this ball back in the bag as to the coverstock just not quite being aggressive enough

Likes: This ball is very smooth and predictable on all conditions. On the Red pattern you can play up the boards without the ball jumping off of the spot. On the longer patterns with out of bounds, the 4000 OOB finish allows you to play the middle part of the lane. I go to this ball when the Outburst gets jumpy off of the dry.

Dislikes: You can't open the lanes up with ball, but that is also not it's purpose.

The Benchmark is great for medium to medium-heavy lane conditions. Its stronger then the Outburst, and really saves up it's energy in the mid-lane, which in turn creates a powerful reaction after the breakpoint.
The ball can definitely create a little area for you specially on a typical 40 ft house shot! If your looking for a great all around ball for most lane conditions then the Benchmark is what your looking for!
I drilled mine up a little while ago and the first two games out of the box with it was 300, 300! The last game I should of switched to my Outburst because i had to move in a little and i started leaving wrap 7 pins.
To sum it all up, I always have a Benchmark in my bag, it's very versatile!
