BALL REACTION

This ball has a motion that I have not seen before in a Columbia ball. With is asymmetric core, it allows the ball to get plenty of length down the lane and then with a strong continuation off the spot. I wouldn’t classify this ball as a Skid/Flip type of reaction even though it is a pearlized ball, but I would say it is a Skid/Strong Roll. Also, for a pearlized ball this is extremely aggressive. I have to move a good 5 boards left from my previous comparable of the Vow. You can get into a bit of trouble on the wet/dry lane conditions just simply because of the aggressive nature of its cover and core, but given the right moves early enough you can combat the over/under reatction.

THE COLORS…I am a sucker for a ball with good shelf appeal. This one will definitely fly off the shelves of your pro shop. I know that I have had 3 people order this ball since I drilled one up only 5 days ago. As far as the reaction goes, this ball will allow you to start a bit further in than you normally would think for a shiny pearlized ball without sacrificing carry. It continues through the pocket better than any Columbia ball that I have seen in recent memory.

Disikes:
The only negative I have seen from this ball so far is when the lane gets broken down or develops wet/dry it is a bit hard to blend thepattern with the aggressive nature of this ball.

This ball is CRAZY!! As in Crazy Good.  If you are looking for a ball that hooks look no further than the Crazy Antics the new high performance ball from C300. I drilled mine pin up with the pin, CG and MD all lined up in a straight line about 5in from my PAP.  This ball will get thru the heads and mid lane very smooth and hook a ton at the back of the pattern.  I can play the deep inside shot with this ball and it seems to hook back from anywhere I throw it.  This ball is great for medium to heavy oil and the colors look great going down the lane.  I love the skid/flip reaction I get from this ball and have found that carry doesn't seem to be a problem.  With a medium RG, high diff and high MB, the core will help the ball produce awesome mid lane and great backend motion.  This is def a piece I would recommend. If you have any questions about this ball or and ball from C300 please let me know or check out www.columbia300.com

CRAZY ANTICS -
The Crazy is a “must have” if you like a skid flip ball motion.  After waiting a bit I wanted to take my time to carefully review this new ball.  Having an idea of the direction I wanted to go, we drilled it 40 x 4.5 x 40.

The AR 300 cover provides more than enough length to handle any variance you may come across in regards to head oil or the lack there of.  I also experimented with taking a little of the shine off and still found it to be very effective especially where centers used the Kegel Ice oil.

The Crazy’s cover surrounds a new Antics Hi-Dynamic core.  The reaction it provides is subtle yet powerful.  Initially I tried to place too much emphasis on making the ball react instead of letting it react.  Once I found the “happy medium”, I saw the read I was originally expecting.  This allowed me to adjust better through the transition.

In any case, the Crazy has been the perfect fit.

Pros – back-end motion, easier to get through the heads
Cons – tough to pick up the roll due to color swirl

Likes: I throw the ball around 16.5 mph and have about 325 rpm.  This ball does exactly what I want to.  It gets through mids, so much so that it doesn't look it will come back.  It just slides and slides and then makes a nice turn.  On heavy oil I have to take speed off to make it come back and on dry I just need to throw it faster.  Its a great Medium to Med/dry oil ball

Dislikes: The color may make you stand out, but that isn't a bad thing if you are putting up high numbers :)
