Cuda/C 2000
« on: December 31, 1969, 06:00:00 PM »
Columbia 300 is pleased to announce their newest high-performance ball, the
CUDA/C 2000, which is available immediately and is cleared for PBA
competition beginning September 8, 2000 .  The CUDA/C 2000 is the return of
the CUDA/C with an improved shell.  This ball features the original Cuda/C
core, which was one of the best selling Columbia cores off all time,
surrounded by a Holo-Flex shell.  The Holo-Flex is a reactive shell with a
soft, engineered additive which is designed to protrude beyond the shell to
give the ball a unique texture and sparkly appearance.  This synthetic
additive allows the ball to get through the heads quickly as the track dries up.  The CUDA/ C 2000 is designed to get to the backend of the lane and have a controllable, arcing motion to the pins.  The smooth arcing path make it easy to find the strike pocket without having to throw the perfect shot.  This ball has a medium-low Rg (2.520) and medium-high differential (0.046). The CUDA/C 2000 has a hook rating of 17.

If you normally get the other "control" balls that you are talking of then this may be a good choice if you need something for more oil. It will definatly come harder than the others you mentioned but I have found it to be very controlable. I throw 17-19 and have a heavy hand.

To update, I just bowled my highest game of 267.

Very happy about it. Thought of just be lazy and bowled with a wrist guard, however was surprised it worked well for a condition that I previously thought it would not.

I increase the rating for the ball to a A+

Aah yes, I finally get my hands on this beauty after previously bowling with an original Cuda/C Pearl, and Super Cuda Pearl.  Both of those have been great to me, but I needed more .

I grabbed this ball off a for sale post here, and when it came, it was miraculously drilled up to my hand specs, it didnt have finger inserts, only finger tips drilled out, so proper lift was an issue.  I just threw in a few pieces of tape and off I went.  I threw it on some fairly "used" conditions, starting the day off playing around 5-7, standing on around 10.  It needed some speed, and if the lift was there and I could get the ball down the lane, it was phenomenal.  Moving out to 10, standing around 14-17 (throughout the night), again, speed and lift was the issue.  If you lightened up on the speed, and went through the beak, it was over. split city.  no way around it.  Also, it was a bit erratic at times, but that was probably more my hand than anything else .
I moved out to 15, standing around 22, and the ball took life.  If I came out clean and extended toward my target, she would go right, and TURN LEFT hard.  Pocket shots left nothing, it was like a bomb was going off in the 1-3, every time the head pin would bounce across the lane from left to right, the lone pin on the deck, just deflecting off the sidewalls.  Unbelievable.  Better ball than my orig Cuda/C Pearl, Super, and even my most current ball, the TiBossII.  Now I just need to learn how to keep up the Particle cover before it dies .
