The Blur Hybrid features one of Columbia 300's most popular coverstocks of the mid-2000's, the Full-Tilt 5.0. Fans will remember this cover from balls such as the Full Swing, Pure Swing, and even the Complete Bedlam. This is the first time C300 has used a hybrid version of this cover, but combined with a medium RG and medium Diff core, it makes for a very smooth and predictable reaction and quite a few lane patterns. I have a particular pin-down drilling I like to use on a lot of my benchmark balls when I'm really trying to get a feel for how the lanes are going to play and seeing how I didn't have a medium RG ball with this layout, decided that the Blur Hybrid would be an excellent candidate for this drilling. Realizing that the Blur line is supposed to fit right in between the mid-performance line (Eruptions) and the lower-mid performance line (Freezes) I expected this ball to play well on shorter patterns and or wet/dry lanes when a patterns gets really broken down. The first thing I noticed about this ball after throwing it for a couple games is how impressively clean through the fronts this ball is. There really isn't an abundance of ball motion, granted that's how I drilled it, but the motion I have is very stable and I know that the ball will never "squirt" downlane and leave me something unexpected. The ball finishes pretty well, but keep in mind that this ball was intended for drier lanes. I actually sanded mine to 1000 just to get some good hard motion on the PBA Cheetah pattern. On THS patterns I find myself a little farther right than pretty much anything else in my bag but I can still find the pocket well. I think this ball will prove to do well for bowlers with higher rev rates who want a little more stable motion or for this league nights that are especially dry or choppy in the final game. I don't think I can call this ball a home run...not yet at least, but I do think it has a place in the bag and also fills a void that has been missing for a while between the Freezes and the Eruptions. In a sense, you get the best of both worlds in a single package.

Review: 
            I drilled the Blur Hybrid with the intent on using this ball as something that would let me play near the dry and allow me to keep my angles and breakpoint in front of me:   I chose the dual angle layout of 70x4x60 which put the pin under my ring finger and check kicked out about 1.5 inches. This layout required a small P4 weight hole to get the ball statically legal.
       The Blur hybrid allows me to keep my angles in front of me which is what I was looking for.  It gets through the fronts with ease and gives me a strong arc off the dry.   This ball with this drilling is super controllable and doesn't leave any surprises on the lane.   It retains energy very well and hits the pins harder than most lower mid level balls I've seen. 

I can see myself using this ball often on lighter volume and shorter oil patterns

        With the OOB surface on THS it tends to ring corners, I think it could be fixed with 3000 abralon
         Doesn't like to be thrown from inside the oil line to the dry,  throwing away from the pocket gave some inconsistencies at the breakpoint
