The N’S@ne Antics is the latest High Performance bowling ball to be released by Columbia 300. The ball features a nice blend of colors. The white, azure, and crimson colors blend together very well while going down the lane, making the ability to read the ball much easier than other brightly colored bowling balls I have used in the past. This is a huge plus and I give my credit to everyone who helped designed this ball for not only giving this ball colors that stand out, but also blend together when rolling down the lane.
The N’S@ane Antics uses the same core shape as its predecessors but has different core densities which lowered the core’s differential. This allows the ball to store more energy. Seeing this lower differential, I decided to drill this ball like my Eruption Pro. I have had a lot of success with the Eruption Pro, so it was a very easy decision to drill this ball just like that. That layout consists of the pin being 5†from my axis, pin 2†from VAL, and a small balance hole on my axis point. This puts the pin up high above my ring finger, mass bias is located just right and above my thumb hole. The ball is very clean through the front part of the lane with a strong continuous motion in the backend. When I first used the ball, it was a little too hard of the spot for my liking. I used a 2000 Abralon pad by hand to smooth out the motion and now it is perfect. This ball rolls great, and gives me a stronger core and cover stock combination to use with this layout, which is something that I’ve been wanting to add to my arsenal.
The N’S@ne Antics, for me, succeeds more on medium volumes of oil as well as during lane transition. With a stronger layout, or more surface, this ball would do well on fresher patterns, as well as patterns with more volume. This ball will work for a vast amount of bowlers, and can be drilled with various patterns to match up for any kind of conditions.
