I was thinking when I drilled this one that it is going to be a great league ball, well it will be, but that will not be the only place I use this one, seeing the specs on this ball, with the Messenger core, and the Momentum cover, I knew that this particular piece would react in a way that I was ready for, whoops, I got that wrong. This ball reacts very strong off the friction and finishes through the pin deck very nicely.
Alot of people are going to see the price on this ball and think that it's gonna be a dry lane ball or a first end reactive, but I can tell you that is far from the truth. This ball will out perform anyone's expectations.

First tried this ball on a fresh house shot and after loosening up with my Perfect rival ( highly shined) ( about 10 shots) I tried playing the same line, and I wasn't able to keep the ball on line, a few adjustments with the feet and target, I rattled off 18 in a row. with them all being just dead flush, fooled around some more and was able to see what this ball can and will do in oil.

I am really impressed with this piece of equipment and I think that the rest of the country will be too.

You need one of these, ( and the three different color schemes will suit anyones taste)

Drilled my Red/Blue Freeze (dual-angle) 70/70 6" Pin-to-PAP.
I am a high rev-high speed player and I tend to struggle playing straighter angles to the pocket and further towards the outside. The Freeze allows me to utilize my rotation on shorter and drier patterns while not having to cover a lot of boards. I still like the reaction on fresh house conditions I receive with my Full Swing and Bedlam, but this ball fits in nicely below those two as a great fit for Cheetah and playing left-to-right once the heads start to dry up. For some, this might not be your first out of the bag, but it definitely should have a spot as a good piece to fit in once your aggressive surfaces start to fade and burn up. Much like the Cool Noize, the Freeze is a great combination of predictable quality ball reaction at a good price that looks great, but with color options for those who like some variety.

Obviously when you have one of the best selling balls of all time as your core(MESSENGER), and put one of the best selling c300 balls from last year as your cover(MOMENTUM))you get a great ball, but when you make it a little more then a Tropical Storm you get a steal!!!! This ball has all the characteristics that i loved about my messenger, predictable,strong move but not jerky real readable and awesome for a house shot or when you need to step it down from a more aggressive ball, I drilled one with a 2 x 2 with a hole on my axis and the other 4 x 4 with no hole. They are just what i expected them to be and can not wait to throw them on something where i need the ball to clear the heads and read the backend and be readable with entry angle. Anyone who has had a messenger YOU NEED THIS IN YOUR BAG!! and if you were one of the few who did not have one heres your chance to get on the boat.

Hey Everyone. Back again and I'm a 3 yr Columbia300 staff member and have been in the Pro Shop business for 15 yrs. I have a high rev rate and my PAP(posative axis point) is 4 3/8 right X 3/8 up. with a TC(track circumference) of 11.5. I have two or the red/blue pearl FREEZE's.

I drill the first one with my favorite layout. pin 5in from PAP. CG center lined. the ball great when you need to play a little straighter or when the lanes breakdown. A perfect ball to switch to when your hi performance equipment is to aggressive. Very clean through the heads with a nice flip on backend but not to much. Def stronger than than other balls in its price range.

The Freeze line is replacing the Jazz series. The Columbia line needed a light-bulb shaped core, as it is always a great engine for performance balls. They decided to bring back the Messenger core, and I couldn't be happier. For the first time, a manufacturer is putting a 2-piece core in an entry-level release. Let me be the first to say, the only thing entry-level about this ball is the price!

I drilled one with the pin 5" from my PAP, above my bridge. I get great length and a fantastic move on the backend. I found this ball to be a touch longer than a Loud Noize, and more consistent off of the breakpoint. Overall hook was pretty similar. Compared to a Jazz, the Freeze got through the front part of the lane much, much better, and turned the corner just as hard. What stood out the most was the hitting power. The 2-piece core just had more "umph" when it got to the pins compared to the 3-piece Jazz.

I drilled a second Freeze, one with the pin 4 1/2" from my PAP, under my fingers, with a hole down my VAL. I wanted to compare this to a Momentum, since they have the same cover. The Freeze is cleaner through the front, and more angularity in the back part of the lane. This one hooked about 4-6 boards less than the Momentum.

With the current state of the economy, and the season just around the corner, I predict the new Freeze will be a popular ball. Anytime you can get this kind of performance with that small of a price tag, you can't go wrong.

Being in the Proshop business I was excited when I heard about this one. You kidding me? A messenger core with a momentum cover stock! For the same price as a Tropical Storm! I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. I have had many messengers in my past. Green and blue. This one brought back memories of standing left on shorter patterns and just tearing it up! My fav messenger drill is 5 x 4. Applied to this ball, red/blue, it was 2 to 3 boards straighter than the loud noize with the same drill. Effortlessly through the front with the familiar pop on the backend. Again, like always, dont be afraid to adjust the surface. The factory 4000 abralon with polish can easily adjusted to create more hook. When adjusted, this ball blows out any of the planet series balls from Roto Grip!

Thanks to Columbia for spoiling us with the Noize series and now the Freeze!

The Freeze is my choice for late league shift or short patterns such as Cheetah. The ball is incredibly smooth through the front with a nice flip especially off dry boards to the right. The ball motion is very similar to the Loud Noize with excellent carry. I drilled the Freeze 5â€ PIN x 4â€ CG with an extra hole around the PAP.

You can't go wrong with the Messenger core one of the best every created.

When you are talking BANG FOR THE BUCK the Freeze has to go to the top of the list. What can you say when you put Columbia's best pear cover stock on one of the best weigh blocks ever except thank you. With everybody pocket book getting a little smaller because of goods going up, Columbia has hit a jackpot on giving people more for less.

I was shocked with the length it had but knew it would hook so I was never worried watching it go down the lane. Just because you see a small price you will see big results and hook.

Okay I was a little disappointed when I heard the Jazz line was being discontiued and being replaced with the freeze. The Freeze is a great ball especially for the price. I used the ball a lot for the later squads and or shorter lane conditions. With the ball having my favorite coverstock coming from the momentum and modified messenger core. I drilled my Freeze with one of Chris Barnes favorite layouts. Six inches from pin to pap with a low hole. The ball gets cleaner through the heads with a strong arcing motion to the pocket. The ball surprised me being a few boards stronger off the drier boards than my jazz.

Momentum coverstock and a Messenger core for an entry level price? This ball will fly off the shelves of the pro shops. This ball really surprised me. The price is the only "entry-level" thing about this ball. For the bowler that wants a mid-level performance but does not want to spend the money will love this ball. It gives the easy length that the crankers will love and the flip that the strokers want. The cosmetically appealing colors will also satisfy everyone's needs.

This ball will be in my bag wherever I go and whatever condition I bowl on. A LOT more ball than the Jazz - easier through the fronts and more off the dry. This is definitely a winner!

Great ball mine is drilled pin beside ring finger in a stacked lable drill. Very clean through the heads with a little mid lane read and a smooth left turn to the pocket. shot 211,214,256,and 224. The first time throwing the ball. On wood lanes without a lot of oil.

3-4" pin and 3-4 oz side weight (I can't remember exactly what it was). Drilled with pin above, and just outside of ring finger, mas bias a few/couple inches right of thumb hole, and no side hole.

Very smooth rolling ball. Hits hard and seems to keep the pins low. Stronger than advertised, this ball is very under rated in my opinion.

I needed something to go longer than my Rogue Cell, because when the lanes break down mid second to third game, that Cell is just too much ball. The Freeze did just that, but not much to be honest.

I have to say the Freeze was a solid choice, and for the $129 drilled, I couldn't pass it up (plus due to the budget I was on, I really didn't have much of a choice). It was a toss up for me between the Hammer Emerald Vibe, Storm Fast, or the Freeze.

I never threw the Momentum, but had a black/gold Messenger back in the day and loved it. I would highly recommend picking one of these up if your in the market for a great medium oil ball.

In my opion one of the best medium to dry lane ball on the market today. The best ball for the money bar none. I shot 300 last noght with this Baby won several pot games and posting numbers like crazy. This ball for me is more consistant tjhan my VG and more controlable than my NP GREAT GREAT BALL

Drilled mine 5" from PAP which made me drill the pin out through the middle finger. CG is 4 1/2" from PAP. I wanted a ball for house shots and later games in the block. What I found was that the ball is very clean in the front of the lane and makes a strong but predictable motion everytime I roll it. I shot 770 with it the first night I used it in league. For the price point you cant go wrong from this reaction, Im excited to see how it will work this year for me at nationals
