This was one of my favorite new releases that I tested at Bowlnanza and this ball is impressive! Another great addition to the Columbia lineup with a big time move at the break point. If you liked the Resurgence, but wished that it had a little more at the backend, look no further. Just like the others in Columbia's lineup with getting through the head with ease and reading the midlane, then a strong move at the break point.

Was really interested in seeing this ball matches up against the Momentum, as well as the Resurgence.

Pin next to ring finger, cg under pin and slightly in towards palm. Left ball OOB( always do when first trying new equipment).

Had the lane man oil me a pair of lanes for this comparison
First thing I noticed was how quickly this ball checks up, after warming up and getting all loose, I threw 5 shots with each ball. Resurgence is still an oil lover, but this ball loves the oil just as much. I was easily 10 boards in from where I was playing with the Momentum, On a fresh house shot there is no way ( without surface adjustments) can I throw the Momentum Swing in the same area as the Momentum.
As far as the Resurgence I was 2-3 boards inside of the Momentum Swing.
If you like to see a ball check up and go, this is a must.
I will put a little shine on the ball ( just a little) and see what happens. I am positive I won't be disappointed

WOW is the first thing I am going to say about this one.

Layed it out with a 5" pin 70 degree MB and took it to 4,000 grit right out of the box. House condition with little hold in the middle but 41' taper. I was amazed at how this ball rolled up in the mid-lane but still had flip on the back-end. Most of the stuff I have thrown lately rolls up nice in the mid-lane but lacks that kick at the corner but not this one. It still pushes fairly easy but the recovery is worth talking about all day. If you are constantly looking at buckets or 2-8's you need this in your bag. I already have 3 Momentum's and this is the perfect ball to compliment what I already have.

Got the Momentum Swing a couple weeks ago, and drilled it pin above my middle finger, and the CG kicked out through the grip center, requiring a weight hole bringing the side weight to 3/4 ounce.  On a house shot, this ball was a monster.  Sent it out to the dry, and it made a big, sweeping arc, and had really nice carry.  Got it on the Viper pattern in my PBA league this past Sunday, and it was every bit as good.  Started up earlier than my Psycho, (as expected), and drove through the pins better on the heavier oil of Viper compared with the house shot.  Even finished with a 268, which is my highest score on a PBA pattern thus far.  Very strong ball from Columbia, and a great ball to have in the bag for heavier oiled house shots, or tournaments.  Will definitely be going with me to my upcoming regionals.

Drilled Perfect Rival, and Momentum Swing both 4x4 no hole. Both balls have similar ball motion with the Swing outhooking the Rival by a good 6 or 7 boards. Even though the ball motion is similar the Swing will pick up about 5 feet sooner than the PR.

I used both balls this past weekend at an East regional on the new version of the Viper pattern. On the fresh the PR was uncontrallable it either hooked too much or hung when hitting right of target. The Swing gave me a much more readable path to the pocket with some recovery right. After the breakdown I was able to move further right and catch the burned breakpoint made by powerplayers and switched to the Perfect Rival goign up 4,5,6. When the PR got too strong off the spot I switched down to the Loud Noize which held up till the end of the block.

I have been wanting to Columbia for some time, and i found a RH single drill Momentum Swing on Ebay for cheap, and a NIB Loud Noize so i gave them a shot.

My specs:

PAP: 5" over and 1/2" up.
Rev Rate: 450-500 RPM
Ball Speed: 17 mph
Axis tilt: Medium
Axis Rotation: Mostly High

The Layout:
I wanted this ball to compliment a Virtual Gravity that is my oiler...with the thinking when the VG begins checking up, i can switch to the MS and have it push through the spot easier.

I went with a 4 1/4" pin to pap, CG kicked 45 degrees which ended up about an inch outside of my ring finger. I had to pop a hole to make it legal, so i went with a 1/2 inch bit 1 1/2" up on my VAL.

What i ended up with is a MONSTER! This ball is so much fun to throw, the reaction is crazy towards the back of the pattern, especially for a solid reactive. On a typical house shot it is just too much ball for me, it caused me to have to use extreme angles to get to the pocket.

I have used it on Kegel's Highway to Hell Pattern, and it played very nice for me on the fresh anywhere from 15 and deeper as long as i got it to 8 on the back.

Overall im glad i didnt go with a stronger drilling, because for me im seeing close to 5" of flare with this drilling. I think this piece will fit most styles as long as you know it can be very strong with the correct drilling on it. But it is deceptive because of the length it gets for a solid, it is very clean up front.

Compared to my Virtual Gravity, it is about 2-3 boards less overall, but where is shines is the overall reaction shape. Where the Virtual tends to start up early, the Momentum Swing will give me about a foot more length with a sharper almost snappy backend whereas the VG is a bit smoother on the back.

Volume wise i think the VG and the MS can handle similar numbers, just with a different look. I think the MS could be a versatile ball for all style bowlers, i cant really see any negatives with it at all.

Overall its a great ball thats fun to throw and the hard part for me is putting it back in the bag and useing something else!
