The Omen rolls just as advertised, starts up early with a nice heavy roll and great continuation down lane.
Lower Rev players will enjoy the amount of hook this ball creates and High Rev players will enjoy all the different angles to the pocket they can create, and because it's all New Capsule Core is Symmetric it is very driller and release friendly. This ball will help tame the Shark Pattern and absolutely dominate heavier volume League Conditions.

Likes:If you're looking for a ball to use on heavier patterns the Omen is a must have. For those of you that loved the Resurgence, the Omen is right up your alley. I personally loved the Resurgence, so to have a ball the rolls just like it is very exciting for me! While the core is different from the old Resurgence the roll characteristics I've seen so far are extremely similar. The coverstock has the teeth to read the lane in the heavy patterns, while the new core gives the ball that continuation through the back of the lane and the pin deck. If you're looking for a ball for your longer and/or thicker patterns the Omen is definitely the ball for you. Go out and get yours today!

Likes:This ball is really strong, I have this ball drilled the same way as my Benchmark and is about 2 feet sooner downlane at the break point. To me this ball is smooth through the front part of the lane with a nice crisp sharp continious motion down lane, this ball hits like a truck.
This ball is like a Resurgence but on STEROIDS.
Bugsy Kelly and the R/D team did another great job at putting Columbia 300 as one of the best ball companies out there.

This is hook in a box..... Strong Strong Strong Hook Hook Hook and a ton of movement on the backend with Symmetric core.... Throw out your Virtuals and nanos and get an OMEN, you wont regret it

12/30 update: I have used on wood and synthetic lanes and fresh and used patterns. Conclusions: This ball is 2-3 boards weaker than my Nexus on certain conditions. It does read well on a fresh heavy pattern but quickly loses back end reaction as oil moves down. It is smooth and continuous on the right condition. I find it is better suited to the lighter side of a heavy oil pattern. It also does well on beat-up patterns, as it blends things really well. I do not find it as responsive to release changes as some other balls I have. With all that said, it is a very useful piece when control is needed. Ball clears the fronts very well. I am very happy thus far. I have no affiliation with columbia. Just wanted to give some feedback on a new ball.
Drilled it up Thurs. The house I went to had last nights THS out. I threw the ball for a game to try and get some oil into it. Ball seems to have a heavy roll to it and is not afraid of oil. It is not as jumpy as I thought it would be. I have a Nexus solid drilled very close. The Nexus goes insta-left (I'm RH) out of the oil while the Omen makes a distinct read at the same point but continues on a smooth arc. At this point I'm having a hard time saying which ball covers more boards. It is very controllable. I'm thinking it will be a great ball on heavy fresh where you need to play a little more to the right. For comparison, the Nexus is great when I need to get in, as it's a little too jumpy to play straighter with. I'll update this as I get more of a read on the ball.

Strong is a word to describe the Omen. It was strong immediately in the fronts even with the pin up layout. I had to move inside (5 left) and kick it out to 8 downlane. I was bowling on lanes after a league had finished up. The ball just was too strong in the front part of the lane. It would pick up its roll and I had a decent reaction. This ball will not be one where you can open up the lanes on broken down patterns. It will be great on fresh patterns and lanes where there is volume up front. This ball would shine on heavy volume House and patterns like Scorpion out of the box. A solid oil ball that reminds me of the Resurgence.

The ball gets in to an early roll for me and continues through the backend.
I have about a 3" pin with this ball and I have it just above my ring finger with the CG stacked underneath.
Certainly a must have in your arsenal if you are looking for something that has a strong roll and continues to drive once it hits the end of the pattern.

#1: Ball one is great for my THS if I am wanted to stay inside, ball rolls up early and is very smooth with a small kick on the backend, loving the smooth roll of this ball as it keeps me away from the over under of the THS that I bowl on here. Has good carry for a early rolling ball on THS.
#2: This ball was drilled for tournament conditions with pin down and 1000 grit cover prep. Ball is rolls great for what I intended it to do, starts up very early and gets into a roll, very easy to control on a heavy oil shot when playing a straighter up the boards type of shot. Ball is not intended to play a lot of swing, so once the lanes start to really open up I usually ball down or just switch to Omen #1.
Dislikes: None as long as ball is used for what it was intended for.

Likes:I have my omen laid out pin down below the bridge with a slight kick of the cg. This ball gets through the fronts clean enough but picks up in the mids for me and has a nice continous roll through the back. I have it at out of box right now, and it rolls like a champ. The biggest thing though, is that its smooth throughout the whole lane, and does not over react. If your looking for a great benchmark ball that can blend out patterns this would be the one for you

Likes: All i can say is "Wow". Columbia has definitely designed another great ball to their line up. I really like how they have diverted back to creating a ball that has a low rg and low diff. I'm sure you all remember all those type of balls back in the mid and late 90's. On the fresh this ball has a strong midlane and continuous arc on the backend. It looks like there is a little motor in the ball. I tried the Omen at a recent tourney that put out a Kegel Recreational pattern called Wall Street. Yes, it's a house shot type pattern. With only 19ml the Omen performed nicely. I played the lanes pretty straight going 13 to 8 using an up the back release. I was very surprised at the continutation on the backend. This ball just shreds the pocket on the light hits. Then when the oil started to carry down on these DBA synthetics, which they are known to do, the backs got tight and started to make the ball not to finish. All i did was change hand poistions and gave the ball more tilt and the ball started to finish again. The Omen really brings back the look of the Ebonite Vortex Series type roll. I am really glad they did because it's nice to have a symetrical ball with a simple shape core that can get down lane from straight or even deep and still roll up. Cheers to Bugsy Kelly and Columbia for a job well done.

Likes: Easy length, predictable midlane read, more aggressive than you think out of the box.
Dislikes: When polished, hates carrydown with a passion. Soaks up very quickly.
Observations
I actually gave Monster Stitch his Omen. I switched to man weight and of the balls I wanted to replace in #16 was the C300 Omen.
This is another piece I tend to save for tournaments I see on my schedule because of the fact I mentioned that it soaks up rather quickly.
Primary shell preparation: 500/500/4k/4k
Switching to 16LB has been both fun and a challenge at the same time. A #16 Omen has been more of a challenge at first, but once getting the surface right, I can remember why I bought another one of these. The rg is pretty low, and the differential is on the aggressive side, again without going too crazy. It provides a strong benchmark ball motion which will be wonderful on many patterns. If it hooks through the face, I can trust that it will respond to a less-aggressive release in the same area. Think of a 2012 version of the V2 and Inferno lines.
Bowlers with hand will find this useful because of its ability to find a strong, yet controllable look on most patterns, without burning up too early. Users who are speed dominant or see longer and heavier patterns should look at the Oath, if they want that strong benchmark type of reaction on a symmetrical ball.
It's smoother box surface at 500/500/4k/4k allows for a predictable move between oil-dry boards at the end of a pattern, as well, while still providing a good entry angle.
If this were a yelp review, I would say "Yay, I'm a fan."
