LANE CONDITION

Length: short, medium, long sport patterns

Volume: 27ul, 26ul, 23ul

Type kegel sport compliant

I am NOT a staffer, so I have no issue with telling anyone if I like a ball or not
LH, 385 rpm
medium track
16mph at the gun downlane

Likes: smooth up front, longer arcing motion downlane, predictable

Dislikes: on the short, I had a hard time seeing the transition as the color combo makes it difficult to see that. I'm probably in the minority of bowlers that watch for this.

Ball is drilled with simple pin above bridge.
Left the ball at OBB surface and it may have been a bit to much for the short pattern, I was doing quite well with my GB2, so I didn't change it at all for this pattern.
On the medium pattern, the volume was a little less and the pattern was pretty flat, so it was hard to give it a good evaluation (for me anyways)
when thrown properly on that pattern, the ball has ease through the heads and a strong arcing, but continuous motion, its stronger than the Oath for me.
On the long pattern is where I really liked this ball, even took it 1000 dull.
We were on a 45' medium volume sport pattern that required a soft hand and good shotmaking, when it broke down a little, the ball really started to come alive and carried quite well.
On paper, this ball looks very similar to the disorder, which I also have.
these balls are not the same IMO, the SD is longer and stronger from what i can see
I certainly will adjust the surface to use on my THS if there is enough oil
This ball will stay in my arsenal

I've had this ball for a couple months now and I can say its extremely aggressive! Some people will look at the fact that is uses the Bend-It Hybrid cover that was also found on the Disorder and think this ball will be just like it. Thankfully that statement is completely WRONG! The Severe Delirium hooks a good 4-6 boards more than the Disorder and rolls a little earlier as well. I did a pin up layout on mine with a weight hole up near my fingers (the ball had almost 3 ounces of finger weight after drilling). This ball gets downline incredibly well for being such a low RG core and makes and excellent motion all the way through the pin deck. It will surely be a staple in anyone's bag who is looking for a little more hook especially on the fresh lanes.

This ball is a keeper. With my medium ball speed,I would need a ton of oil to throw this oob. Once I put some polish on this ball it really came to life. Great ball motion through the mids, very smooth transition into the backend and great continuation. Seems to get progressively stronger from front to back. With proper surface preparation I think this would be a winner for medium or high rev players with decent ball speed. For lower rev or speed, I would recommend the Urge.

The Severe Delirium is a symmetrical ball with a very aggressive cover stock and works as a perfect complement to original Delirium. This aggressive cover allows the ball to grab the lane early creating strong ball motion throughout the lane.

I drilled mine pin above the fingers with a 3” pin and the CG kicked out 25 degrees. With a rev rate of 300-325 and medium to high ball speed, this layout works very well on higher oil volumes and longer pattern distances.

On medium volumes and patterns the Severe still gets through the front of the lane clean and reads the back of the lane consistently.

Lower oil volumes and shorter patterns do not agree with this ball as the cover stock is too aggressive. This is where the original Delirium is a great fit.
I am very pleased with how this ball performs and would highly recommend this ball.

I was very excited for the Severe Delirium for a few reasons, I really like the core that has been a staple of Columbia 300 for years now in the Resurgence core. Wrapping that core in a hybrid coverstock really gets the best of both worlds. I have actually drilled two of these balls and have been really impressed. I have even used them on sport compliant patterns and been super impressed with how much area I can create with this ball. If you need something a little more aggressive than a Delirium and like the early rolling motion than the Severe is a perfect match for you!

Likes: Smooth midland roll, increased area on most shots, great looking ball!

The Severe Delirium is the next product in C300’s Yellow-Line Collection.  As so named, it is designed to compliment the Delirium’s skid/flip reaction with one of a more aggressive, severe movement and discernable traction throughout the entire lane.

Being part of the family, I have great expectations for this ball based on my prior success with the Delirium and so far I have not been disappointed.  The Severe’s ball motion is most certainly earlier than the Delirium with the cover coming at a 500/2000 Abralon finish.  That being said, using the same Resurgence core keeps the Severe within the parameters of the Yellow-Line and allows one to play somewhat similar areas as the Delirium.

I have my Severe set up 60 X 4 X 30 (with a wt. hole) using the “out of box” cover.  What I have found most interesting is the unusual amount of 7-pins I’ve left (being right-handed).  Once I can look at this more closely, I will update the post.  My first thought is that the movement at the end of the pattern through the pins is one where they are being pushed more straight back versus side to side.  Additionally, various oil volumes do not seem to be a detriment to the Severe’s carry especially with my medium ball speed.  In being an older bowler, I find that my adjustments are less right to left with my feet when changing from the Delirium to the Severe or vice versa as the oil moves down the lane.

After its all said and done, the Sever Delirium is indeed a necessity for those that utilize the Delirium series characteristics and prefer to keep playing the same part of the lane longer. It should be apart of anyone’s arsenal.

Likes:For me, this ball is my benchmark. Having this nice, smooth, strong continuous   ball reaction really allows me to read the pattern correctly and if need be, adjust accordingly. This ball is great on conditions that have a little more volume and are longer in length. The original delirium is a great compliment and will give you just enough of that extra length later in the day. The ball really starts up nice in the mids and is a strong continuous motion on the back. Even getting into games 6,7,8, on those heavier volume house patters or sport, the ball never burns up and still continues well through the pins. If you're looking for something that can handle some volume as well as some length, then this is the ball for you!
