Columbia Throw Down Ball Specs:

- Color: Neon Green/Berry/Sea Blue Pearl All colors do vary somewhat from the picture shown.
- Core: SD Medium RG
- Coverstock: Bring-It Solid
- Factory Finish: 500, 500, 500, 1000 Abralon with Factory Finish at 300 RPM
- Reaction: Length w/ Continuous Backend
- Radius of Gyration (RG): 2.51**
- Differential (Diff): 0.053**
- ** RG and Diff are based off of 15 lb. balls
- Recommended Lane Condition: Medium-Dry Oil
- A few tiny pit holes in the cover stock of the ball are normal

I am Damon White, Amateur Staffer for C300. I reside in Ridgefield Park, NJ. Here is my review on C300's newest Upper Mid Performance release, the Throwdown, which will be available September 2. It features the Bring It Cover, with a pretty blend of colors. It is the solid member of the family (Smackdown and Takedown), with a polish to increase length and continuation, with control also. It has the same core as the Smackdown and Takedown and makes for an excellent addition to your arsenal. I have used it so far in 4 different bowling alleys on their THS and it was versatile enough to work in all locations. This bowling ball is a must have, in my opinion. Don't miss out!!!

A staffer saying that it's a "Must have ball " just brings down the quality of the review.Most all of you staffers say that about just about every ball !!

Likes: The Throw Down is by far one of the smoothest balls I have rolled. I really like using the ball when I need to play a tighter line or just need to not give the pocket away so much.

Throwdown: (LH) Layout:50x4.25x55

The Throwdown, is a great compliment to the Smackdown and Takedown however C300 has made a few adjustments. Still using the "Bring-it" cover that was great in prior rocks they decided to polish the Throwdown giving it more length and same continuation. Essentially this would make it easier so it would be more controllable and less moves to be made on the lanes. This is a new personal favorite for me as I can almost use this anywhere. If you don't have one of these in your bag head to your local pro shop and get one today.

The new Columbia 300 throw Down is a ball that I have been looking forward to seeing for some time now in the UMP category. I personally prefer solid covers over pearls, they tend to give me the best ball reaction since I have so much forward roll in my release (my PAP is 4 7/8" left, 3/8" up). I knew I wanted this ball to be long and strong, more so than the original Smack Down, so I drilled mine pin up with a 55 degree drill angle, 5" pin to PAP, and 40 degree VAL angle. I was a little disappointed at first with the reaction I got from this ball. I was expecting it to get to the end of the pattern and go left but it only wiggled. I gave it a few games and I began seeing more hook but I still wasn't satisfied so I hit the cover with a fresh 3000 Abralon pad to take some of the polish off. This was the saving grace for the Throw Down for me. With polish the ball never wanted to read the backends but with a little surface, this ball was more than willing to let me stand left and throw right with it while still hitting the pins really well. I would say this will probably be a ball for most to start a league night or on a tournament fresh shot. The cover seems to be slightly sensitive to oil so I don't see this ball coming into play a whole lot once the lanes break down, and honestly, that is where the Take Down should excel instead. So far I have to say my overall thoughts of this ball have been good, aside from not throwing it much on broken down lanes it rolls very well for a number of different people. I would definitely recommend this ball to anyone who has some trouble getting a ball to hook of the fresh!

This is another great piece in the "Down" Line. The Throwdown does what it says it throws down pins and lots of them. I drilled mine pin down with an extra hole kicked to the right that makes this ball super smooth and very controlled down the lane. I find great success playing up the lanes with this ball. When moving in it does not seem to want to corner so I would recommend straighter is greater with this piece. The colors look great going down the lane as well.
