I am not a staffer, friend sent this to me and asked for  my honest opinion, good or bad.
this one is a winner, another great piece from the folks in Hopkinsville
i bet you see this one at the fall tour series in Vegas
Im LH, 385-400
16.5 mph downlane
lower track
4.75" over and .25" up PAP

Likes: even rolling, stronger, predictable motion off the pattern.
i did not match up with the orange EP at all, had 2 layouts, many surfaces on it.
it just slowed down to fast for me and changed direction quickly.
This one has pin below ring finger - approx 4.25" form PAP which is a shorter pin-pap than i usually get.
Very glad this layout was used. this ball has easy length, and an arcing predictable motion downlane.
Have 3000 dull on it now for a medium sport pattern, used it when the GB2 was to much. great pice IMO

Dislikes: was to clean of a cover to start for this pattern. OBB cover would be better on a lighter volume

Likes: This hybrid is really a nice ball, smooth and carries everything. This ball is great on medium conditions.  If you already have the Eruption Pro then you know how strong that one rolls . Well this hybrid is a smoother version of that.

The new Eruption Pro Hybrid by C300 is a winner! Available 10/7/14 in your local pro shops and you do not want to miss out on this gem! I am very impressed with this bowling ball's motion. Very compatible and comparable to the original Eruption Pro, but with a little stronger motion down the lane. Very sweet looking color combo of emergency orange and fire red. Early use by fellow C300 staffers have brought out lots of honor scores, as well as great reviews in anticipation of this release. I have use it for the last few weeks, bowled well with it and it worked in many different houses that I bowl in, which is always a plus. All I can say is you do not want to miss out on this, you will regret bypassing this gem. Team C300 has a winner on deck!!!

With as good as the Eruption Pro has been for people bowling second shift or those who bowl on wood lanes, I would have guessed it would be extremely hard to follow it up with another good piece using the modified Resurgence core. Time to go eat my own words....

First of all, this ball has a lot more shelf appeal than the original E. Pro did. Some people were turned off by the bright pastel orange color, it was either an "I love it, or an "I hate it" response, no middle ground. With the added darker color and swirl patterns, it turns a lot more heads and gets more positive feedback from bowlers who ask about it during leagues.

Second of all, it hooks. More. Like a lot more. Want to see a symmetric ball that can cover every board on the lane and still keep the pins low as it drives through the 1-3 pocket? Look no further than the Eruption Pro Hybrid. This ball absolutely thrives on dry lanes, it loves dry like a fat kid loves cake! But that's not the best part, throw some surface on it and you've created the perfect step-down ball from our very popular Disorder. Same motion, just gets down lane easier and hits harder than Rick James!

Third, It's driller friendly. The numbers on the core for this ball give the driller a wide array of options for a super wide range of bowlers out there. From regular Joes to hardcore tournament enthusiasts, everyone can find a spot in there lineup for the new Eruption Pro Hybrid!

Eruption Pro Hybrid
One word sums up this ball, AMAZING! I loved the Eruption Pro, and did not think it was possible to make a better version of it. However, I was wrong as the guys at Columbia 300 have made an even better version of an already fantastic bowling ball. The Eruption Pro Hybrid, not only looks great with its Emergency Orange/Fire Pearl color combination, but rolls even better.
The Eruption Pro Hybrid uses the same Modified Resurgence Core that found great success in the Eruption Pro, combined with the CR 300 Hybrid cover stock. With the addition of this cover stock, the EPH is able to be even cleaner through the front part of the lane than the original Eruption Pro (as the E-Pro was a solid). Having this extra stored energy, the EPH makes a much stronger motion off the spot than the E-Pro and hits the pins hard. I’ve noticed that this ball finds more success when the fronts of the lane are gone, or there is more total friction on the lane. It is a great ball to have, especially if you bowl at a center that doesn’t use a lot of oil or to have during the later stages of your league night.

I recently tested this ball during a recent EBI Demo Day. I also purchased one last week.

My ball's specs:  15#  with 3" pin &  2 oz top wt.
Drill: RICO

I threw this ball on a fresh (THS) pattern on a HPL 9000 surface. The surface is 9 years old.

Previously, when I tested a similar ball, I concluded that the ball was best suited
for drier conditions, at least for my style of play. That ball was drilled 75x 4.5x 60 (approx.). I had to keep my speed slow, even in the burn to get it to finish with authority. Inside the oil, it simply skated too far. I had to keep my angles in front of me for best results.

The new ball is also 15# with a 2' pin--with a RICO drill. I threw this ball on the same lanes and under the same condition (fresh THS) as the previous ball.
With the RICO drill, I was able to get the ball to read the midlane much easier. As a result, I was able to throw it at my "normal" speed with no problem getting it to
face up and finish strongly, and with excellent carry. However, even with a different drilling, I still had to keep it outside the top hat for best results. Although I was  able to get this ball to perform better in the oil than the previous ball  this was not this ball's strength, at least not for me. I took the surface down to 2000 and then to 1000. Doing this brought somewhat better results
in the oil  but in the process, it lost its ability to carry in the burn.

In summary, this ball, with the RICO drill,  will allow me to stay in the "dry", even after the lanes start to break down, due to my somewhat higher speed-to-rev ratio when others will find it necessary to change balls and/ or move deeper on the lane.
It will allow me to stay with my "A" game a lot longer into the night. A good thing for sure.

The Eruption Pro Hybrid is a great piece for Drier lane conditions.  The Eruption series is a very versatile group of bowling balls and every bowler should have one of these pieces in their bags.  The Violent Eruption and Eruption Pro are both great balls and the Eruption Pro Hybrid follows suit.  This ball is very smooth and does not over hook.  It gets down lane very well and the clean motion to the pocket is a sight to watch.  I drilled mine straight down the label pin high and I think this layout is very smooth and versatile and is a great layout for this particular piece.  For more info go to www.columbia300.com or contact me with any questions.

Absolutely fantastic piece from C300. I drilled mine 70x5x30, and the down lane continuation is absolutely ridiculous. Very few balls continue to go left through the pins like this one for me when I'm playing way in. Out of the box, the ball went super long with it's shiny surface. I took it down to 4000 dull and the ball was very readable in the mids but had a TON of pop off the back. This ball doesn't disappoint when you have to move in and play large angles. The carry doesn't go away, and the core doesn't burn off too much energy and hit weak when you've gotta cover a lot of boards. AWESOME ball!
