Check my profile for specs...

i got my wicked with a 2-3 in. pin and 3 oz. top weight.. I drilled my wicked the pin in my bridge and the cg in the middle of my hand and left in the box finish...

The wicked lives up to it's name... it get exceptional length through the heads and pines, then as soon as it touches dry, it's straight left!!! this ball is very oil sensative, so watch out cause it will squirt out on you if you miss in oil, but make sure you keep your speed up just because it has a tendency to get jumpy on the back-end of the lane, so be forewarned... Columbia has made a winner with this new flipside brand, and hope they make more in the future cause they have a buyer in myself....great ball for bowlers when the lanes open up and you have that extra area to work with...

thanks for reading this review

Hello, I got a chance to throw a frieds columbia Wicked ball> dont know the drilling specs. But I thought it was a good dry lanbe ball to med oil.. NBothign special for oil. Did not hook near as muh as other I throw liek Storm Erase It or track ko champ, trauma er but it did hit pretty good. Left a couple of nastysplits though when it should have been a good strioke ball.. I won't buy one I know that!

7 out of 10. does not live up to COlumbia's big hipe !

Righty bowler, amout of handvries from shot to shot.. but speed is arond 15-16. honestly for the first few weeks i hated this ball and was near selling it. Then i went to my pro shop guy.. told him i was looking for control it.. he didn't have any, so i puchased a bottle of track's Back Magic.. ohhh baby! First tourny out with it(it was a JBT up at Holiday Bowl in Oakland NJ if anyne's from the area)4th game came out and shot my frst 300 game with that ball. The ball was goig longer and moving more aggressively once it pushed furter down the lane. The way it was setup initially.. wasn't fond of. tweaked the cover a lil and BOOM great ball columbia!
When all else fails?STRAP THE LANE!

15#, 3.5" Pin, 3.2 TW

Pin above bridge 1", CG on centerline.  3/4 Roll, + - 16mph
38' dressing on AMF synthetics.  Out of bounds at 7 board.
This ball gets to midlane easy, sees the end of the oil pretty quick though
The carry percentage seems to be a little better than some balls.  Not leaving as many backrow pins as some of the "monsters".   This could be the best "league" condition ball this year.   The only "gripe" is wish they would move the white blob on the ball to the side instead of on the pin.  Better yet, get rid of the white "blob"

My wife and I both bought one of these balls, and we're both very happy with them.  As for mine, I had it drilled label, with a small weight hole to make it legal.  This ball has excellent length, and has no trouble getting around the corner if given any dry to work with.  I didn't think I would like this ball so much because I hated the Core Power HRG, which had a similar reaction, but for some reason, the Wicked is a little more controllable.  My Wicked actually gives the impression it hooks more than my Icon, but I think it's just because all of the Wicked's hook is in the backend, while the Icon hooks more throughout the entire lane.  In my opinion, this is Columbia's third top notch ball in the last year or so (Reaction Ricochet and Icon being the others).  Columbia and Ebonite are dominating the market right now and congrats to those two.

Since I’ve converted from 16 to 15# equipment, the Wicked has become my first ball out of the bag. It is an awesome ball. Nothing else in my arsenal (and there’s lots there –trust me) HITS as hard as my Wicked. Specs? 15-4, 3oz TW, 4” pin. Ball is layed out with the pin above the ring finger, and the CG kicked out to the right about 1-1/2”. This layout was intended for tournament and sports shots, to give me length with a strong back end, and it delivers. My home house is synthetic, medium-heavy oil, and it’s rare when I don’t have a shot somewhere with this ball. It carries well from just about anywhere on the lane. As long as there’s some head oil, and reasonable back end for recovery, the ball is playable. I put a lot of trust in BTM ‘s (Bowling This Month) ball reviews. They rated the Wicked as one number stronger than the Icon2 on their hook scale. I didn’t believe it when I first read it, but I do now. I have both balls, and they are laid out almost the same. On a normal house shot, I will have to stand 1 or 2 further left to play the Wicked due to its harder finish. The Icon2 loses a bit of punch due to its coverstock spending a bit more energy up front. I haven’t had a chance to throw either on a real heavy oil condition yet. The Wicked is sooooo gooood that I am seriously considering buying another one and drilling it up in a strong leverage type layout just for a different look.

This ball might be good for a consistent shot, but it is too erratic on an oilier type shot.  When I first got it, my house was running a 30ft tree, buffing to 38ft and this ball was a killer.  Had good length and a strong flip on the backends. carry was great.

Since then, the shot has changed to 36ft buffed to 42ft in a flatter configuration than before. Now this ball is so over/under that it is completely useless for me.  Either it skids through the pindeck, or if I move my feet, hooks early and gets in the nose.

I have the ball drilled 12:00 with the pin above the bridge and cg just above the midline, didn't need a weighthole. I even tried scuffing the surface with a scotchbrite, only to find the same results, just deeper on the lane than before.

I liked the ball on a lighte pattern, but it was junk when they increased the oil.  May be the drill or may be the ball but it ain't made for an oil shot and it won't work for me on one.

If you bowl on light to medium, this is a reasonably good choice.  Carry was good and so was reaction, just don't get it for ANYTHING over a medium shot

Specs: 15#,  3.5 top and 3" pin.
Carry of this ball is awesome.  I used the wicked yesterday on about 35' of oil,  light carry down and I've actually saw a lot of 4 &  7 pins hitting the wall of the pindeck and coming back to finish the job.  Even on lighter hits and brooklyn strikes this ball handled it.  =)  Oh yeah,  I guess i had to mention,  I got my 3rd 7-10 split on this ball.  I took out the 7,  hits the wall and came back to hit the 10.

Awesome ball Columbia!!! ....now,  if only they can do something about their particles..  =)

Alright, heres a few stats. Right Hander with a little above average revs, I throw about 17 mph.  Pin just above the ring finger with the cg kicked out a little bit.  3.5 oz top weight

Alright, Just had School League today, and I knew it was going to be a good day from the third shot in practice, (first two shots, wanted to get my arm warmed up).  In school league we bowl 2 baker games and then bowl 2 normal games. I got this ball about 2 months ago and really enjoy this ball. This ball seizes to amaze me.  I can throw it out and it will snap back, and I can keep it inside if the outside is dry and it will sit and flip.  There is no over/under with this ball.  It is very controllable in oil, but once you get in dry this ball turns into a monster.  If you are a fan of brooklyn, have fun.  Anyways in the last few weeks I figured out a few things I have been doing wrong with this ball and my form, and in the last week and a half I have shot 4 700's and my lowest game has been a 198.  Yesterday I shot 502 with 2 games, 257 and 245 for school league, and then today I come out and shoot 299 and threw a lot of splits in the second game for a 193. It was only a 492, but I can handle that. The first 11 shots were perfect, same shot on all of them.  The 12th shot.  Everyone went quiet and one of my coaches was yelling SHHH, which I would rather not happen.  I figured since i shot the first 11 with noise I might as well have the last one with noise, but I was shaking so bad i couldnt turn around and say anything.  I yanked the hell out of the ball and it crossed over and barely nicked the head pin on the brooklyn side...The 10 pin sat there, I think 3 pins rolled and hit it, but I was on the ground looking up...My teamates and all the parents and everyone else started clapping, and they had to come pick me up because I would of just sat there for the rest of the night.  I'm happy that I got the 299, but I still which I could of threw a decent shot... But that is my story with the Wicked...I love the ball, and will probably never change, if this one ever gets something wrong with it, I will buy another one and so on...I'll probably stock up just in case.  I also have the Wild, and that ball is so over under, i hate it with a passion... Never buy that piece of crap!    Thanks for reading if you read the whole thing.  See ya

I haven't written many reviews, but I feel that I should for this ball.  I am 26 and I have been bowling since I was 4...youth, college, and mens...and I have thrown A LOT of equipment.  I won a 15 lb. Wicked in a ball raffle back in December.  It has just over 2 ounces of top weight and a 3.5" pin.  My PAP is 3/4" up and 4.75" over.  I had the ball drilled with the pin just over my ring finger and the CG directly below it.  I absolutely hated the reaction from this ball, way to flippy and uncontrollable for me.  I was going to sell it but a friend said that he would work on it a little and see if he could tweak it for me.  He dulled the coverstock slightly and took all of the sideweight out of it.  Still I didn't like the reaction, but it was much smoother at the breakpoint than it was before the changes.  Last week during league I decided to change my release so that I minimized the side rotation and really tried to stay behind it.  I was setting it down on 12, rolling it out to 10 by the arrows and it was hitting the hole like crazy.  I started liking it better and better as the night went along and the 3rd game I shot my first 300 for a 760 series total.  The next day I bowled in the city tournament and shot 2078 scratch for 9-games, which I was also very pleased with.

Basically, I think the Wicked is a great ball as long as you put forward roll on it with minimum side rotation.  It is plenty strong enough to blow the rack on it's own.

*New Addition 2/11/03 11:00 p.m.*  Well, not only did I shoot my first 300 5 days ago with the Wicked, but I shot a 297 with it tonight at a different house.*

I am a youth bowler, i have been bowling for a while but my average had barely improved. I had a 140 and i am 14, i was less than impressed with my own ability. I decided that a new ball was the they to go. I purchased a WICKED as my first "real" bowling ball (my previous was a wine rhino, it wqas approved for the PBA in 1986). Hear are the stats:
Pin: 3 inches
Top-weight: 3 onces

Pin placed at 2:30
cg kicked out a cm or two
Lanes: Wood
Style: Power Stroker

To start off, i cannot illustrate how versetile this ball is.aas long as there is some oil on the heads and a clean backend. The fist dry board that this thing touches it will rev up like 'Vette and kick like a soccer star. It has the biggest backend of any ball i've seen. Its also extremely forgiving. If the conditions are right anything on the right half of the lane will find the pocket. And when it does... SHASH!!! pins flying everwhere. This ball has to be one the best balls on the market, and the value is unreal!

Lets sum it up!
Pros:
Ignores the condition of the heads if there is ANY oil.
Will find the pocket on its own.
Hits like a truck when it gets there.
Most versetile ball ive seen

Cons:
long oil/carrydown, this ball will be strait as an arrow -------->

in my opinion, 10/10, If you cant use this ball, you shouldn't be bowling!

Bought this ball from Confucious recently from here and all I can say is WOW! Ball is 16lb, 2 inch pin, drlled label unsure of top weight. Ball first of all looks cool rolling down the lane I love how the ball is mostly med/dark shade of blue, with a big white spot around the pin. Anyways, ball gets down the lane very well, revs up make a turn and crushes the pocket. Was practicing the other day and first three shots couldnt keep it left. Moved 5 loards in and a little more speed and wham, next 7 before a pocket 7-10. Had next 6 after that before going 8 pin, 9 pin, both ripped. Ball is a winner by far, havent been the biggest fan of Columbia, but if their equipment is as good as this, I may have to look into their products again. Havent thrown once since the Chaos and that ball was money for me. The Wicked is indeed that! 9 out of 10 so far. Once our league fixes the shot I will thro it then and review again.

Ball is 15lbs 1.5 in. pin drilled 4x4 (no extra hole)
After reading some reviews on this ball saying it really flippy after drilling the ball I took it to the spinner and scuffed the ball with a green scotch-brite pad.  I have had the ball for a couple of months and am very pleased with the it.  The ball give's me good length and a Strong ARC I repeat Strong Arc to the pocket.  I have bowled on heavy to med conditions with this ball and personally it battles both really well.  Sure its not the biggest hooker on heavy oil on the block but the hit I feel makes up for it.  Great ball for the money I
