This review won’t be very long. Box specs are 15-5, 2.75 Top weight, and a 3” pin.   I drilled the B/R/T with the pin beneath the ring finger at about 4 o’clock. With my high-tracking long Pap, this puts the layout at roughly  4-1/2 x 6. So although it may look like a label leverage position, the pin is actually not that aggressive for me. No weight hole required. As drilled, it flares around 4”. That’s a bit more than I expected, but I can live with it.
I only threw about 20 shots with it this morning. My normal league condition. Synthetic lanes, medium oil, a house shot, with a bit less oil in the middle than most house shots, and an out of bounds if you feed it outside the 7 board too early. I like to hit around 7 at the breakpoint, but not before then.
I brought my original Wicked along to compare with. The original is layed out with the pin above the ring finger and the CG kicked out about an inch to the right of the ring. Balance hole making it ½ positive side. The two Wickeds are only slightly different. The original one pushes down the lane maybe a foot farther than the B/R/T. This may be due more to the layout than the core/coverstock. But – they both covered the same number of boards. In my arsenal, it fits right where the original Wicked fit – just a pinch weaker than my Icon2, and a couple of boards stronger than my Reaction Rip. Both balls have good hit, but are not the best choice for my usual league shot. In this house, the less boards I cover the better carry I get. If I use either Wicked, I have to swing from around 22-23 at the laydown point to around 7 at the breakpoint, and I don’t have the revs for consistent carry bringing it back that far. The young pups eat this place up swinging the ball, but us strokers suffer from flat-ten-itis and 7-10 syndrome if we attempt it. There are other houses where swinging the ball will carry for me, so I will keep a Wicked in my arsenal. Which one? The B/R/T. Why replace the original? Easy – it’s butt ugly. I hate that big white blob that surrounds the pin. It looks like doo-doo going down the lane. With the B/R/T, you hardly notice the Red blob. It’s actually a nice looking ball going down the lane. And that’s what’s important. No matter how you bowl, you wanna look good doing it!

Update to me previous review. I've had a chance to work a bit more with this ball, and it is better than the original Wicked. I'm finding that there is no quit in this ball, and it carries corner pins better than the original Wicked, even when I have to cover a lot of boards. All this with a label drilling. I've used it in a couple of different houses, neither of which favored the original Wicked, but had much better results with the B/R/T.

Starting Ball Specs
-------------------
Pin: Out 2.5"
Top Weight: 2 1/2 oz.

Finished Specs
--------------
Side Weight: 5/8
Finger Weight: 1/8
Top Weight: 3/4 oz.

Drilled 5.5 x 3.5, weight hole on the axis (5 3/8", 1/2" down). Pin is just right of the center line under the ring finger.
Factory finish was not altered.

I was hoping to find a ball that would help me when the heads start to go and this one did the trick.  definitely a much different look than my low rg stuff that tends to burn up early when the lanes break down, but strong enough to play through some carrydown.  This ball gives me a much bigger move on the back and more continuation through the pins when the heads start to go. I was suprised at how strong this ball is, but still predictable off the break point.  An excellent ball for me when my low rg balls are burning up early and struggling to make the corner.

Hope this helps,
Morpheus

After reading reviews posted about this ball, and throwing one owned by a junior bowler, I decided to purchase one for myself.

The ball is set-up 5.75"x5.25".

I chose to go with this drilling because I felt the ball drilled for the junior was a tad strong.

Well, even with this drilling, the ball is fairly strong. The ball recovered fairly well from "inside" on the 6 o'clock "night" oil.

Amazingly, even when I felt that I pushed the ball with too much forward rotation, the ball still recovered to the pocket.

Since I've only drilled the ball up tonight, I can't give it a complete review, but on medium length medium viscosity oil (re: medium) it holds its own. For a power bowler, this ball may even work on heavier loads/lengths of oil.

I'd give it 22 cans out of a case.

My, a surprise.  Drilled one for lower track player.  Pin under bridge, CG on Neg. side for 3/4OZ.  Ball held a nice strong arc.  Chopped pins sideways good.  (this is roll probably).   Looks good for med. to heavier oil.

I picked up a Wicked BRT late in the season to use on a sport shot and in some late season tournaments.  I drilled my Wicked with the pin next to my ring finger and the cg directly under the pin and just below the mid-line of my grip [3 3/4 x 4 1/4].

This is one very nice piece of equipment.  The Wicked BRT reads the mid-lane extremely well and has a long continuous driving arc to the pocket.  I have yet to see any kind of flip or angular move on the back end with this ball, but the continious back end provides great pin action.

With my average hand/revs, I find the ball works better from the third arrow and out.  I have used it on deeper shots, but had trouble consistently kicking out the 10.

I would highly recommend this ball if you are looking for a very controllable ball with a strong continious arcing backend.

"NOw here my friends is my ballreview
---- of the Wicked BRT"  sung to Gilligan's Island theme.

Oh I've got to stop that!!!  (see A 3 day ship on Wanted for sale forum).

GOt this ball for a song (where were the other bidders! from Ball Celler off of EBAY.  Took 1 month to actually have in my hands, due to my vacation sent with the wrong wicked!!!  Not really his fault.

Just the specs I asked for 2 to 3 pin and top weight of 2 1/4!

THis ball is smooth with a touch of
punch at the BAck!

Much like other reviewers have said this ball is mostly arc. But mine has a littlepunch and seemed to be picking up more as it started to track!

Drilled 4 X 4 with the pin slightly down and cg also.

This ball should not be drilled weak due to moderate flare potential(.36) unless you are very strong handed.

The closest ball reaction I've seen is the Monster Smash/r!  Both rev moderately early early and arc arc arc and then a small little imperceptible punch!  This ball is big hitting.

TO be played mostly for smaller swing I was using a lot on a 14 or 15 board at the arrows to a 9 swing!

If you already know I consider the Smash/r one of the best medium condition balls I've ever used.  This is the  Columbia version!  Also this is ever so slightly earlier due to solid vs Brunswick version of solid which looks like pearl.

Also note my Smash/r is 1000 with black magic this is 600 out of box with double buff compound!

I say about this ball, Columbia tames superflex!

Slightly stronger than a Red Pulse slightly weaker and smoother than a Messenger Ti.  (I really was looking for a solid version of the Monster Scream/r from Brunswick(similar core specs).  I think this is exactly what I got.

This is a great medium condition reactive, probably maybe for patterns up to 43 feet!

NOt popular far as purchase numbers but very big numbers are possible with this ball!  (Note Wendy Mcpherson results on ladies tour with this great medium ball)
What a practice session I had!

I got this from LuckyLefty (didn't he write a glowing review for this ball) in a trade for my Cure.  I had a real small change to the thumb, but the ball is still in excellent shape

Drill specs:
4 X 4 1/2 (label, pin next to ring finger)
Lightly shined

I've had this for a while, but really haven't had a chance to throw in the conditions it was meant for until the last week.

I first tested it with the finish I got it with on a standard league shot.  Ball revved up nice on this shot, but had a tendency to squirt just a hair.  I hit it with a white pad right before practice was over and got a pretty good reaction on the fresh.  Swinging 12 to 5, the BRT got through the fronts pretty well then began to make a smooth continuous arc to the pocket.  Heads broke down pretty fast, so the BRT got bagged after the first game.

I took the ball home and decided to play with the surface a bit.  I took it down to 600 then brought it back up to 1000 and gave it a bit more texture.  The BRT now got to go through the ringer on a nice, fresh sport shot.  Really juiced up front with big backends.  The Wicked really shined on this condition.  I was able to get inside and still clear the fronts, but with the new surface and extra juice, you could really see the ball pick up the mids and make a bit more of a move.

Overall, I really like this ball and can echo what LuckyLefty said about it.  Hooks a bit more than I expected and will fill the strong reactive spot nicely in my bag.  Really surprised that there aren't more reviews on this ball as it's probably one of Columbia's best offerings.

For power players and strong tweeners, I could really see this being a great tool for the tournament arsenal when particles are just a bit too early.  As for league bowlers, this is an excellent heavy oil reactive.

I've been rolling this ball (16lb, 3-4pin, 4oz. top weight before balance hole) drilled label leverage, set-up to go a little longer for my release.  This is the first season with it and it is a confusing ball.  I agree with previous reviews that it can really tear up a fresh layout - our house is newer synthetic with medium oil and very fast carrydown.  My league is a 2nd shifter, so we bowl directly after the previous league threw on fresh conditions.
Overall, I love the ball, it looks great and revs up nicely... I towel off after every shot and clean with Ultraclean at the end of night -- but the performance still changed a TON through the first half of the season.  When the lanes are dry, you can still get this ball through the heads - but it builds up quite a turn - almost too strong without through fully across lane.  When your forced outside, it doesn't handle carryover very well, tends to squirt a bit through its turn.
Great ball to throw on medium/medium heavy conditions - arc is predictable, but the little thrust at the end can sometimes take the perfect shot JUST enough out to leave a corner pin.  Pocket hits are explosive - really throws the pins around.  Thrown some beauties with it this season (185 avg) through a 279, 278, 255 and quite a few 600 series... Just had it resurfaced, box condition, and it's as strong as ever!
Good mid-priced ball for all speed/rev players

I drilled this ball up on the 13th of Febuary all I can say is that this ball is great. The specs. on the ball is 15lbs 4ozs with 3 3/4ozs with a 4 inch pins I drilled it stacked lev. and the ball is amazing out the box I shoot my first 800 posting games with 279,268, 272 for a 819 set. This is my second Wicked that I've drilled the first one was drilled lev. There was no certain lane conditions that I drilled up for I just drilled up like this just to try it out and it's great.

wow! thats all i can say....to anyone who can score with this ball. This is probably the BIGGEST dissappointement from Columbia I have ever owned.  The ball was very unpredictibal and i had no idea when it did find the pocket....if it would hit hard, or hit like a "marshmellow" i dont remember how i had it drilled, stacked i believe with a balance hole to off-set the top weight to make it legal, i think i gave this ball away to some kid in town, and then i quit throwing columbia forever!!! dunno hope you people like them tho.

Hey everyone...

Ive had this ball since last christmas.  It took me a while to get the hang of this ball, but right now I absolutely love it.  I have the ball set with a 2 1/2" pin with about 3 oz. of top weight (its 15lbs), and Box Finish. Pin just to the right of my ring finger and CG in middle of span. No balance whole.

----------
---0-0o--
----------
----*-----
----------
----0----
----------

I'm a righty, about 5'6" 145 lbs.. I have a fairly small hand, but I use it alot, I crank the ball med./high revs but like to keep the hook as small as I can to eliminate the possibility of error. My starting position with my shoulder width is a 12 board difference ( stand on 12 to hit 5, 17 to hit 10, etc. )

With the top weight and pin I have on this ball, when I first started using it I had alot of trouble getting it to come back, and it seemed like it just wanted to roll out, and not make up much if any ground. I hated the ball (like nobrackets4me in the previous review) !  After I toyed with it for a while, and tested hand positions and lines to play. I found out that I needed to make sure and get good fingers on it, and play more direct.  For me if I try to rev it, rather than just let it go, I would create problems with jerking up at the line, and missing my mark, so I dont advise that. I just moved my feet right.

I play normally between 10-12 (standing 17-19) or around 15-17 (standing 22-24) if there was a strong backend.. Playing up the boards, and letting it snap on the back end with this ball is the ticket for me!!!  It very seldom leaves corner pins when u hit flush and it clears the deck solid.  I've used this ball on wood lanes mostly, as apposed to synthetic, and it likes a dry backend.

Ive hit a ton of 600-650 series's with this ball as well as my highest game ever (289).  And for the record, my eleventh ball was a solid 9 .  If you like a ball that goes down the alley good with a strong back end, its a great choice to add to your arsenal.  Works best for me on medium lanes.
