Likes: This ball truly lives up to its name.

I am a Left Handed bowler with a high rev rate, so I had this ball drilled with the pin at 11 o'clock for controlled arc. The ball is strong in the front, smooth down lane and monster hitting power in the back.

I have been throwing Columbia 300 for over 20 years and I must say this is one of the best balls I have ever seen.

Likes:       I have found my oil ball. The World Beater will cut through the heavy oil when box or sanded  and when shined it still hooks but with a tamer backend. Ball #1 was drilled 5 1/2" pin up and a strong MB position; reacts with pretty good length with a strong but smooth backend. Ball #2 was drilled with the pin 1" from my PAP with the MB right of the thumb. Ball#2 will cut through oil and make a strong midlane read while when shined it reads the house shot at about the 35' mark with a strong flip and continous backend. The World Beater reminds me of a stronger version of the Pure Swing.

Likes: I like how the balls picks up and read the midlane. The ball has a strong arching motion on the backend to the pocket. I like the carry I get with this ball. The World Beater’s finish well on medium to heavy oil conditions and can strike from different angles. I had games of 245,279,256 second time out throwing the ball

Likes:  This ball rolls up in the midlane really nicely and has a nice smooth reaction to it.  It doesn't over read the dry and doesn't quit on dryer lane conditions.  You can keep throwing this ball even on dryer conditions as long as you keep it in some oil, and it'll still give you a nice read.  Very predictable reaction to this ball, even on really squirrly conditions.  This ball also takes surface adjustments amazingly so you can use it on a range of lane conditions.  A must have for all bowlers.

Dislikes:   If the lanes are to dry you'll leave a few soft tens.

I am a Columbia300 staff member with a hi rev rate and am right handed . i love this ball.. My 1st one I drilled with large drill angles....80 x 5 x 70 which puts the pin under my middle finger and mb swung left of the thumb in my track. It reads very clean through the heads and reads the mid lane perfectly with very predictable smooth arcing backend reaction and still hits like a truck.
My second I used my favorite 50 x 5.5 x 60 which puts the pin over my middle finger and MB kicked out to the right of my thumb. This 1 is very very strong kept dull ... After about 20 games i polished it up with ebonite factory finish and it definitely went longer and flips hard is an understatement.
Columbia300 definitely got the coverstock / weightblock combo right with this one... much better performance than the Pure Physics

LANE CONDITION

BALL REACTION

Length: Good length, even with the ball drilled to read the lanes early

Back End: Great! This ball hits like a truck!  It collects itself, then goes!

Overall Hook: Good overall movement of the ball, but still carries it's energy to the pins

Midlane Read: This ball reads the midlane wonderfully, but without spending all of it's energy.  May be one of the best features of this ball.

Breakpoint Shape: Not quite angular, but would not describe as a smooth arc either.  It is a sharp movement towards the pocket, but you can be confident that you won't leave yourself a nasty split.

COMMENTS

Likes: I was looking for a ball to use on heavy oil/synthetic lanes and I have found it! This is one of the first solid balls I have thrown in a long time and I was not disappointed.  The ball reads the lane very nicely, but does not react too early- what a combo! Anyone looking for a ball with some movement, that still carries pins, should try the Columbia 300 World Beater!

LANE CONDITION
Typical House Shot
Surface is OOB with factory finish

COMMENTS
This ball is drilled to my PAP (4 1/2) by 45 degree angle and consider myself a tweener.
I normally roll around the 12th board with my normal shot. This ball allows me to play wider, shooting around the 14-16 board and still be comfortable throwing it. I usually shoot like this with a skid/flip ball, which is not my prefer style cause it's usually over/under for me. This ball rolls very strong, but very smooth and much more predictable than a skid/flip reaction for me. Very good for a med-heavy - heavy shot

Likes: I can play deeper/ at different angle but still get a smooth, predictable arc and not jumpy off the back. Look nice rolling down the lanes :)

Dislikes: Need some oil, after a few games I have to put this bad boy away

Likes: Drilled the World Beater with a strong drilling. 4.5x4 from PAP with extra hole, pin over ring finger. THe WB is extremely smooth arcing ball motion. I used the WB in the 68th Lumber Liquidators US Open on the fresh and found it to be very predictable and controllable on the most demanding pattern in the world. I also used the WB on Kegel's Sunset Strip which is a fairly flat 40' pattern with good results on the fresh. So obviously I recommend the ball on demanding fresh patterns where you are looking for predictability and consistency. Interestingly the WB is versatile enough where you can use it on typical house patterns. It does not over react when you have burn right/flood left. You may suffer a little carry on the late shift with the out of the box surface because of it's arc motion. I have not tried to alter the OOB finish since I have a lot other equipment to combat THS breakdown like a Burst or Ransom.

Overall I highly recommend the World Beater for many lane conditions. It's truly one of the most versatile balls Columbia has ever released.

Likes:  This was a great option out of the gate playing the lanes straighter through the fronts.  The drilling I have is pretty strong with the pin above my ring finger which allows the ball to get down the lane and save some energy to drive in to the pocket. I currently have my surface at 2000 which I may explore putting a little bit of shine on it so it doesn't burn up too quickly.  Definitely a great addition to someone's arsenal that is looking for a ball that will

This ball provides good length out of the box. I drilled my to dig in early (Pin under) but I'm not getting too early of a read on fresh conditions. The midlane read is good and the WB is very predictable. The ball is very smooth and being a high rev player I get a good reaction on fresh oil. The carry is excellant due to the way the ball continues through the pins.

Dislikes:
On fresh conditions; high speed players will be able to throw this right through the breakpoint even out of the box. You have to control your ball speed to get the proper read. It reads the lane well but reacts to the end of the pattern late. I found that I could throw the WB (Out of the Box) early in a set but I went to either my Outburst or Ransom by the middle of the second game to be able to open up the lanes. Once the lane starts to dry out even the slightest amount the WB is WAY too much ball. I polished the WB and got a very similar reaction to my "pin up" Ransom. If you want a fresh oil ball...WB is hard to beat out of the box. If you're looking for a Benchmark ball.....go to the Ransom. Just my opinion.

Likes:This ball gets through the oil and finish very strong. I'm a bowler with not a lot of revs, but this ball gets started early and don't stop until it gets through the pins.

Dislikes: Some times leave seven pins.
