3-4 inch Pin top weight 3 1/4 OZ

Drilled for Righty

I drilled this ball pin beneath ring finger, CG swung towards Axis points. CG is about 1" inch away from thumb with a Low extra hole.

This ball is smoking and a very reasonable price. I would compare it to my action except the Action rolls earlier. This ball gets down the lane smoothly and arcs hard. When it hits the pocket it destroys the pins. It keeps the pins very low.. Great carry.

Like I said with the " Hy-Jinx" drilled this ball with the pin under the ring finger and the "cg" out past the thumb, extra hole down past the thumb ( my favorite drill pattern right now).

Ball started out with a 3 in pin and 4 oz. of top weight.

Now here's a ball that just wants to hook, gets down the lane a lot farther than I would have thought, but it moves. Backens remind me of a pearlized ball.
In my oppinion for the price this is a better ball than the
"Power Drive Sanded"
It is a must buy for the bowler that plays in oil!!!!!!!!!!

This is my favorite ball in the new line. Finished 2nd and 9th the last 2 weeks in the West Region with this ball. I drilled it with the pin below the bridge on the gripline and cg kicked 1 1/2 over and 1 1/2 down. With a small weight hole to make it legal. Ball starts a little earlier than most my stuff, read the midlane great and has a continuous back end.

Great ball Columbia, thanks.

I just got the Wrath XP about a week and a half ago.  I already shot 278 (front 9 and then rang a 10 in the 10th) and 677.  I am averaging about 215 in 9 games with this ball.  This is a lot of ball for the price.  I consider this my heavy oil ball (hooks more than my Vapor Zone) but I mostly just throw it on a medium oil 38 foot house shot.  Anyway, this ball hits like a truck and it does a great job of reading the lane as long as you are able to match up your ball speed with the condition.  I would highly recommend this ball to just about anyone.  Just stand left and throw right and you'll live in the pocket.

I purchased a Wrath xp because I had the original Chaos which used the double cylinder core weight block which I really liked the only difference is the Chaos had the titanium nugget in the center. I think Columbia first used this weight block in the Ti II Boss, and then re-used it without the titanium center piece in the Spirit, Rock Pearl, and Game. Weight is 15.4, 2” pin with about 3oz top weight.  Left handed, drill pattern is straight up; pin is located directly above & between my ring & middle fingers. Mph is around 17 & 18, medium to high revolutions, Wrath xp is highly polished. This ball is the perfect compliment to my Action Max which is drilled just about identical to my Wrath xp only difference my Action Max has a dull shine. For the price this is a good ball. It gives me the length I’m looking for without sacrificing carry or hitting power when my Action Max starts rolling a little early. This cover and weight block are a good combination. The cover can easily be adjusted to combat heavy oil patterns, can probably also be used for drier lanes with a lot of ball speed and polish. Would not recommend for extremely dry lanes, but a must have for anyone.  Its nice to see Columbia getting back on track with their High Performance and Performance balls. Good Job Columbia.

My specs are in my profile for anyone who wants to see them. My PAP is 4" over and 1/2" up. I am a lefty, medium-low tracker who throws 18.5-19 MPH, with a medium-high rev rate. I bought this ball to try a drilling I was curious about for a while but had yeat to try, which was a "rev leverage" drilling.  I wanted the ball to roll early for carrydown but to have a continous backend roll that still carries when the backends start to go away.  I drilled this ball to compliment my No Mercy (Heavy oil, fresh backend ball), and my U-Turn Particle Pearl (Light-medium THS ball), so here it is:

Weight (pre-drill): 15lbs. 4oz.
Top Weight: 3.5 oz.
Pin: 3 3/4" out
Drilled at Moore's Pro Shop

I went with a rev leverage drilling (featured on the Columbia drillsheets)where I ended up having a pin to PAP distance of 3 3/8"", CG ended up stacked below the pin at 3 3/8" from PAP also. The pin ended up left of my ring finger, with the weight hole next to the thumb in the thumb quadrant, 3 3/8" from the VAL. When I weighed it up post-drill and saw I had 0 oz. side and 0 oz. finger/thumb weight (recommended for rev leverage drilling final weights). I was hoping this ball would give me a different look than all my other stuff, and boy I was right!!

Review: I threw this ball at this years Masters for the first time and it was too aggressive in the front part of the lane on the fresh shot.  The ball comes in at a 1500 grit "dry-buff" surface that looks more like a 500 grit abralon sanded surface than a 1500 grit surface, and it reatced more like a 500 grit surface as it turned early and often, starting its move around 28-30 feet and turning up and eventually burning out at the head pin and rolling out with not so good carry.  I put it away after a coulpe of games without much success and took it out the next day on carrydown, and what a difference.  When there is carrydown this ball does what I want it to do for the most part (still burns out a little) as it starts early but continues to move through the pocket with decent carry and good pin action (this ball keeps the pins low which is something I like to see in a ball).
I took the ball home and found I had to adjust the surface as it starts way too early for any house I bowl in, so I went to a 4000 grit abralon sand on the cover and now the ball is absolutely unbelievable.  It gets about 32-35 feet of length and explodes through the oil with enough energy to carry very well.  I have used this ball in a number of out of state tournaments on sport shots and this ball eats those shots up for breakfast.  The only drawback is that it needs at least 38-40 ft. of oil to give you the length to get it down the lane consistantly.  Overall a great midprice release from Columbia that will serve any bowler looking for a good ball for sport leagues (with the rev leverage drilling) or other longer flat oil tournament conditions!!!

15lbs 3oz, 2 inch pin,3 top

I drilled this ball with the pin under ring and cg out. Small weight hole to enhance midlane reaction. This is one of the best balls I have thrown in a long time. I have used it on a fresh medium shot as well as a light shot. The one thing I love about the wrath xp is its ability to store energy. The ball does not quit.  It reads the mids nicely and makes a huge sweeping hook while driving right through the deck. I was very surprised how well this ball can handle light oil. Stood 40 and launched it with some speed. Same devastating results. Versatile and powerful are two words that sum this ball up best. I decided to get the wrath sf to go along with the xp. I cant wait to try it out.

LANE CONDITION

Length: 38 or 40 foot house pattern

Volume:  Med

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): Typical House Shot (No Bounce outside of first arrow)

COMMENTS

Likes:  The Wrath Xp has a really nice smooth roll and it will not give you an unpredictable roll through the mids nor down lane.  I used this ball lightly polished on a fresher then normal house shot, 1st game I was standing on 18 a able to play the 12th board (lay down point) and as long as I didn’t get the ball outside of the first arrow I was in good shape.  2nd game moved two and one left with my feet and eyes, the ball seemed as though it got stronger and the hitting power sure didn’t go away that got stronger as well.  3rd game i had to make a huge jump I saw the ball standup a little too early so I jumped to 27 and i was looking at 15 at the arrows with a half board pivot not to get the ball outside of 10 down the lane.  The ball stayed smooth and didn’t slide through the breakpoint, and when I got the ball just a little outside of 10 the ball still recovered.  I was very pleased with this ball being able to play straighter and then open up the lane on the same pair by the third game that was great.  My speed also changed from 16 - 17mph playing straighter to 15 - 16mph playing inside.

Dislikes:  Its going to be tough to dislike this ball right now the versatility is awesome.
