Hyde v Slash
« on: October 21, 2005, 10:35:53 PM »
Anyone able to compare these two?
Looking for a dull ball for med oil...THS with very dry backends.
Something smooth for wet/dry.

I think the slash is a stronger smoother ball.

I have only used Hyde polished and it will jump!

From Columbia their best wet dry ball is advertised as the Uturn Particle.
An older version of almost same ball and often found cheap is the Formula.

Also for wet dry this great link where they indicate many of their strongest balls can be used.  Last week in a house that is extremely wet dry but when you play the shot as outlined in the link I will give you.  The big backend Icon2 looked great on this shot.  (similar to formula...just bigger backend).

Link for wet dry.

Note recommendation for this article is the very strong reaction Roll.

I have not used that (for wet dry) but I have used the Icon and Icon2 in tandem depending on how much backend I've needed.  Note the wet dry in our house is SEVERE on the left as it never blends out.

Hope this helps.

I am drilling my Formula this  weekend to compare to Icon2 I used this week.

Slash has slightly stronger cover and slightly stronger core (higher RG differential). I'd go with the Hyde, NOT polished. Use finer grits, (1000, 1200
or 1500 grit) vs the stock 600 grit for more length and smoother reaction.
