900Global already did that. It was called the Creature Pearl.

Sure Jeff, but how many bowlers that used and really liked the Pulses are well informed enough to have known that when a lot of mainstream shops didn't carry that brand at the time?

I'm sure that name still has a "pulse" so to speak among those from that era.

How does Ebonite re-make a C300 tech ball?

Did I not include a ? at the end of the subject line? LOL

Ebonite has access to former Columbia core shapes as is evident in the Noize line and the new Freezes.

And they have access to BASF and they have the rights to the Super-Flex and other former Columbia300 trademark and copyright names & items. Thus, on the Jazz, they're allowed to use the Super-Flex name, whereas 900Global can use the same resin formulafrom BASF but cannot refer to that name, Super-Flex, in their literature or advertisements.

You're right, but I do not know.

Sorry, I might be behind the times here, but what is Ebonite Intl's relationship with 900 Global/AMF?

Ebonite bought out Columbia300 including all patented stuff, copyright and trademarks.

900Global is making balls at the old Columbia300 San Antonio,TX plant/manufacturing facility.

Both use BASF, the resin, chemical (German, as far as I know) manufacturing company for their Columbia based balls. Like Ebonite made the Jazz, using the resin, called Super-Flex, (copyright transferred from/with the Columbia300 trademarked/copyrighted (I don't know which) name. BASF supplies that resin.

900Global also uses BASF to supply most of their resins. They used the Super-Flex based resin (900Global cannot call their "version" of it Super-Flex, because Ebonite now owns the name.) in their Creature, Creature Pearl, Awakening as well as the AMF300 Villain, as well as other balls (Seismic, possibly).

Well if we will talk old-school, anyone remember what cover was on the purple Quake?  That was my favorite ball of all time.  Any balls using this cover today or in more recent history?

Pretty sure it was Super-Flex.

About 6 months ago I got a friend a new Purple Quake. He loves it. Works fine on today's oil.

However, Super-flex back then is slightly different than today's SF which is slightly stronger. YOu put a solid version with an 800 grit US surface on a low to medium RG ball with flare on you can use it on a lot of oil.

Which ball is today's remake of the C300 Pulse?? My dad has the back then remake of this ball and has been looking for another one but of course remade again today. He religiously uses this C300 Pulse (red coverstock) every week, he want's to retire it but only if he can get a new remake.

The Creature is the equivalent of the red Pulse. The Creature comes polished. Just sand it to 800 grit (light grey nylon pad) or P2000 grit Abralon pad to make it close to the stock surface of the red Pulse. I had a red Pulse and its stock surface of 600 grit was hardly usable, even back then on any house pattern.

The Creature Pearl is the equivalent of the Blue Pulse.

I use the word equivalent because this year's coverstock is not exactly the same as the Super-Flex on the Pulse and the pearl Pulse. It's possibly a hair stronger. BASF is still supplying the same resin to 900Global as it did to Columbia300 back then.

Thnaks for the correction, Astroman and kotm.

kotm,

Ebo called it Super-FLex, what they put on the Jazz. It darned well better be Super-Flex. Maybe they had BASF ship it directly to Hoptown?
Or does BASF do all their quality control on resin shipped to the USA there localto you?
