Mini-Review: Power Swing
« on: August 13, 2009, 02:07:13 PM »
Got to bowl a good amount of games with the Power Swing and didn't think I would get another Columbia ball after the disappointments I had with the Resurgence and Noize. But I wanted to give Columbia one more chance with the Power Swing and I think the third time was the charm.

Bought the ball from JS a few weeks ago in excellent condition and with the pin above the ring finger and CG straight below it. It's got a somewhat skid/flip reaction and took the surface down to 2000 grit dull to let it handle a little more oil. It's got some excellent carry and gets through the head very good with more of a strong arc motion. Backend was also strong but not erratic, which gave me more control and room for error. Mostly been playing it on the track are from the 15 board to about the 7 board at breakpoint. Quite pleased with it and shot some really good games the first week and even more tonight with a 300 game (my last one was 2 1/2 years ago with the EPX-T1). Will mostly likely have a full review in a few weeks after another 15-20 games but so far it's a winner. I may have to jump back into the bandwagon with Columbia if this one continues to impress me.

FWIW the noize and resurgence may have not worked out because of the covers on them. they both have the new era coverstock on them
