Ok, lets say you have these 4 balls, if you wanted to use these 4, how would you drill them up and what finishes would you put on them.

Right now the Icon is drilled Centerline Stack, with the pin right between the fingers, cg in center of grip, and small weight hole.

The two Pulses and Piranha are all drilled I believe label leverage...
But if you were to take these balls new, how would you drill them, and change the coverstock to create a heavy oil, med-heavy oil, med-oil, med-light oil ball.

Thanks for any help!

Yes...I name my bowling balls...and as you can see those names are real original...so if you have any suggestions on what a better name would be, please let me know!

Florida State will be back...as soon as Chris Rix learns how to throw a spiral, use an alarm clock, and hang on to the ball...but they will be back.

3 balls will be a more than decent arsenal"
pearl Pulse - medium light oil,
Pulse or Piranha - medium oil,and
Icon - medium heavy oil.

The Pulse and Piranha with similar drilling and the same cover will cover very close to the same oil pattern (with a decent hand). Piranha has not been popular at all.

Since your profile does not have a PAP & delivery style, axis tile, axis rotation, speed, etc, I cannot tell from your description how strong a drilling you have. Without details, locating pin and CG with respect to your finger holes means very little.

I would re-drill both the Pulse and the Icon strong, like 4x4, pin under the bridge for early roll, OR use your favorite strong drill and insure their surface is strong enough to handle medium-heavy for the Icon amd Medium for the Pulse. Icon - maybe 1200 grit matte or dull; Pulse - 1000 grit matter or 600-800 with a slight polish, depending on your delivery style and ball speed, etc.

Pearl pulse at lable leverage is fine for medium-light oil, as long as pin-to-CG distance is in the 2-4" range to maximize flare.

stevo i do not agree with that. Columbia 300 makes tracks bowling balls, so what real difference does it make.

Personally, I'd sell them all and buy TRACK equipment.

Until Track re-releases the NRg, I am not buying Track equipment, have not had a good track ball since that one for my style.

As far as my style, I don't put a lot of speed on the ball, I think a 45 degree axis tilt, stroker. Not sure if any of that info would help, but that's all I really know.

If I had to get rid of one of the balls, it would be the red pulse. I have noticed so far that my Piranha actually seems to be much more agressive than the Pulse, which is why I also put that ball in there, because it seemed to be a lot different than the Piranha. I so far like my Piranha, just trying to make it fit.

Since I am keeping the Piranha, would you change the drilling on it?

Thanks
Chaz

I'd also change it to a 4x4; the Piranha is also a very even ball.

I had originally meant for you to choose which of the Pulse and the Piranha you preferred.  This medium ball choice is the least desirable of the 4, from my point of view. But still not a bad arsenal, if you must stay with it for a while.
