the beast

i bought an old ball today a columbia 300 "the beast". I wanted if anyone can give me some info about this ball. is it good enough for league play?

Is it resin or urethane?

If resin, is it solid or pearl?

There were a whole lot of Beasts?

All but the Polyester Beast had a 2 piece core...

What color is it?  Is it shiny? dull? does it have some sparkle to it?

it's purple and it's tough without inserts to throw. the first three games i had with it were 129, 163, 150. the lanes were really oily and i had the ball polished. what i could i do to improve on my performance with this ball?

Replace it with something more appropriate for heavier oil...

Sand it to somewhere between 600 and 1000 grit. Then if it still doesn't hook enough, do what J_Mac said

Beast was never made for juice! I hope you don't have a Beast that says "LTD" on it, if you do, you'll need the lanes to be reeeeeal dry to work. Beast are great for house shots if you have a high rev rate. If you don't, then move right and go up the track.
