I just got back from the pro shop where I had 5 Columbia balls punched. Different spans, different layouts, different thumb pitch. Here's what we got:
Formula - This ball is way strong. The only way it worked on the THS for me was to move way in and give it a lot of room. It hit like a friggin truck.
Ti Traction - Good strong particle ball that was pretty agressive in the middle of the lane where there was oil. Once I got it outside to the dry, it was over. The result was usually some 4-6 variety of split. This will be a good ball to use on tour.
Panic - this ball came to me directly from the factory with a 1" pin. Not a bad thing, considering I wanted this ball to be less agressive for drier lanes. Nice skid through the heads before turning over and pushing through the pins.
Fear - a very good medium oil ball. Nice predictable roll/reaction. Nothing fancy, just a good overall ball.
Shock - only one word for this ball - HIT! The first time it left my hand, it absolutely lived up to its name. There were people literally coming from the other end of the house to find out what in the hell was going on. Cheesy, I know, but they had a look of shock at what they heard and saw. This ball is big time.
I'm going to throw them all a bit more tomorrow evening; I didn't get the opportunity to to try a bunch of different trajectories before family duty called. I'll post actual reviews for all balls after I've had the opportunity to try each one a little more at length.
