Cloumbia making balls overseas?
« on: October 06, 2006, 02:28:40 PM »
Is Columbia going to start making balls overseas?  I read this on Tracks site.

I hope that's not the case.  If so then there will be another company that wont get my money.

I don't know if this is going to happen but someone here may have the scoop.

Didn't i tell you he was not invited too go on the China trip??? I heard he was trying too buy Track but could not come up with enough money too do it. They are going to start making the ball in Asia in the next year or less, so that BS from Lane 1 about american made is just that BS. Lane 1 knows that are going overseas already it is just about getting his profit margins up and all balls made under the Columbia name.

Do not be surprised if Track gets the axe all together, that is another rumor floating around. Sales are in the dumps so why keep a sinking ship afloat??? They will claim otherwise but just sit back and watch these guys go overseas and maybe kill the Track brand for good.

This is on the Track forum.  The above paragraphs are not from me.  I will have to look at the screen name on the track forum.

Wow. I can't imagine Track being gone for good..Chi do you have any sources for this? I already heard about Del being let go so maybe they are beginning something. Most of my honor scores have been with Track..would be really sad to see them go.

I'm only going by the copy and paste I did from someone elses reply.  I have no idea if this is true or not but he says this is going to happen in less than a year.

I hope someone from Columbia can let us know about this.

Yea i do too. I wasn't trying to say anything bad about you by asking..don't take any offense. I was just curious if you had heard this from anyone with some inside info. I really hope this doesn't happen but with Del already gone Track wouldn't be the same anyway. Guess it's a good thing I have a Doom, Pain, and Black Widow on the way . I was making the switch before i read this but now i'm kinda glad i am.

Bud let's hope this is not the case.  I only have Hammer balls in my arsenal but I don't want to see another ball company go out of our country.

Oh I know you weren't trying to say anything bad about me.  Don't worry about that.  However if the rumor is true and they do this maybe us bowlers can stand up and tell them to kiss off.  Not buy there equipment anymore.

Let's first make sure if this is true though!

Call it what you want, I think not respecting my option to not comment is classless.
this is an internet chat site not the human resource department. If the people who resigned want to comment about their reasons they can do so. It is very unprofessional and tasteless to ask others to comment as to why someone did something.

I can tell you that balls will continue to be made in San Antonio for a long time to come..........  Asia is for bags and shoes only

Chitown, spreading rumours and suggesting scenarios isnt good for any company.  If you want to know any information, ask me in a PM, if I dont know the answer I'll obtain it for you.

Bud i'm not trying to bash on the company.  I copy and pasted this reply from someone on the Track forum.

I'm glad to hear that it's only a rumor.  Next time I will PM you if there are any rumors about the company.
