I almost wonder if it is a play on words like HY-BRID but just change it to NEW-BRID
They also have the Pheonix New-Brid

Is it just me or doesn't the core on this "New-Brid" look very different from any of Columbia's cores...
-
im guessing that they are both overseas balls, and always thought the brid stood for breed, Phoenix New Breed, and Action New Breed

Demonstration video is available now on ABS website.
New-Brid looks a little bit flippier than Big Shot in backend.
New-Brid sounds to me (a typical Japanese) like an abbreviation for "a new hybrid" between C300 and Ebonite. Maybe an ABS sales manager gave the name. It's quite usual in Japan to drop some syllables to make a new word. Anyway "New-Brid" is not catchy to me, though:-).
FYI, an ABS staff Kaz Tokue (a JPBA pro) says in the video Ebonite provided both core and coverstock for Action New-Brid. They are none of Columbia300 technologies. The coverstock is "C300 Special Edition". There is no detailed information for the coverstock chemistry in ABS website.
