bedlam
« on: September 21, 2009, 01:48:26 PM »
got the chance to throw the bedlam about 5 times.  I honestly have never seen a ball that goes this long and have  sooo much backend. the first time I threw it I saw it blow through the breakpoint and thought it was gonna hit the 6 in the face. then it flipped harder than any ball I have ever seen. did leave a flat 10 because it got in behind the head pin too much tho. I could see this ball being condition specific but I went ahead and drilled one anyway. the one I threw was around 4 x 2 still the definition of skid flip.

drilled and through mine tonight.4.5 x 5 (pin up w/ box finish) and it does not like oil and it hooks when it finds dry. Was great in practice and about 5 frames... when the oil pushed down so did the reaction. Flat 10, birddogs that would not get there and weak 7's where the 5 did not make it to the 7. This was a fun league with my daughter so I stuck with it... trying different tilts and rev rates and ball speeds... and the ball simply needs dry.

I went plus 30 for the first two games never missing the pocket and leaving a stone 9 late in the 2nd game that would have given me another 20 or more depending on the 10th. In frustration I put the ball up.

I might try taking the surface down to 1000 and seeing if the ball can tame the oil abit.

Drilled my Bedlam Monday night. Pin over middle finger and cg kicked 40 degrees(RH). Immediately took the ball down to 2000 abralon and the ball was too strong for a fresh house shot. Brought up to 4000 abralon and was clean through the heads with excellent backend. Used it in league on Tuesday going 773 (268,226,279). It handled the head oil well and reacted great down lane.

I don't generally throw too many balls out of the box since it's not always easy to recreate the box finish. I definitely was satisfied with the reaction I got out of the ball.

Message me if you have any further questions.
