Rico1 Drilling on Overdrive
« on: April 16, 2005, 03:01:34 AM »
I just drilled a Overdrive with the drilling at http://www.brunswickinsiders.com/PBATour/PBATournaments/Indianapolis/featuredballindy.htm

This has to be the smoothest ball in my arsenal. I left in in box finish and threw it on a burned up shot from all the open bowling and as long as I was in deep enough to catch the 100+ units of oil in the heads, the ball rolled up and just hit like a tank. I then put 2 minutes on it in the luster king and man did the ball come alive. I was able to get right with the feet and it really shined with a small swing or even down and in once I found some oil.

This drilling is HIGHLY recommended on most everything if your lanes are spotty or even on the tough side. I will be using this on the PBA patterns this year for the regionals and also in my sport leagues.

Why is it called Rico1?

Who's drilling is it?

Obviously one of the Brunsies.

I wonder how it would work for over under.

It seems one of our local stars uses something similar to this.

No idea who named it and I believe that RickB from Brunswick came up with it. As far as over/under, it works great. This is the 3rd ball that I put this on and when others are fighing with over/under, I can pull this ball out and just rip the rack apart. On the overdrive, the ball acts like urethane. If I hit the dry too quick, it rolls right off of it and doesn't jump like most other balls. If I tug in in the oil, it sets up and just shreds the rack.

I had a absolute drilled with it also but just didn't like it. I have a Big Bully with it, a bully, the Overdrive that I just punched and am going to punch a BY bully tomorrow with it. With the PBA patterns, it's more about control drillings instead of flippy drillings. I can/will adjust how the ball reads the mids by surface as this is my favorite drilling now. It reminds me of a drilling about 10-12 years ago that was famous in Team USA.

Columbia Audit. I drilled a absalute up about 2 week's ago and love this layout. WHEN IT HIT'S THE DRY IT JUST ARC'S OFF the dry with out that jerk. Second time out shot 814.I think i'm going to drill up another ball to see how it work's. What other ball do you have this drilling on. THANK'S BEAR
