Any guess for the new ball??
« on: November 09, 2006, 09:17:46 AM »
My guess is that Columbia will have a new release the week before X-Mas.

I am hoping it's asymmetrical and in the Apogee line with a stronger cover.

My guess for the name is the Satellite.

If they have an Apogee, might as well have a Perigee as well?

the point in the orbit of a heavenly body, esp. the moon, or of an artificial satellite at which it is nearest to the earth

this is an Apogee:

the point in the orbit of a heavenly body, esp. the moon, or of a man-made satellite at which it is farthest from the earth

I was thinking perigee too, but the fact that no one knows what the hell that is, Satellite is at least recognizeable.

The only thing that I could think of to go with Apogee is Syzygy. That would be a really sweet name for a ball too...

Perigee comes to mind for me also.
With the apogee meaning the longest or pinical of distance and the perigee meaning the closes point to that object without touching. For me I would say toss in a low rg titanium nugget to lower the rg of the apogee core and toss on a stronger cover

While that's true, I bet no one knew what an Apogee was either.

Exactly.  I thought Apogee was a made up word so I didn't even think to look it up.
