Ball above the Rival
« on: February 10, 2011, 05:27:23 AM »
What's a good ball that will fit over the Rival and Arch Rival?  How would the Outburst work here?

Thanks for the help.

The Outburst is my thought, but it is really strong at 1000 OOB surface. So don't be surprised if it doesn't do much downlane in OOB surface. My friend had to polish it to get it down the lane to and save energy. 4000 no polish should still fit nice above the Rival.

I have both balls personally, and my outburst outhooks my arch rival and rival with a less aggressive layout than these two balls.  Its very predictable and hooks a ton.

I would go with a Burst. When the Rival was released, the Resurgence was a step up, and the Burst is the exact same ball that a Resurgence was. Same cover and core. Besides I'm sure both the Rival and Arch both have a ton of games on them, so I wouldn't go off the deep end with an Out Burst. The Burst is a ton of hook, and would be a little more user friendly because the surface doesn't come rough enough to plant corn in the sanding lines.

If you want a little more pop on the backend than the Rival, then go with the Burst.  If you are looking for same type of movement as the Rival, then go with the Outburst.  Hard to go wrong with either of these pieces.  Both very good on all conditions especially for the price!

Good luck!
