My Pro just drilled up a Raid for me with the pin up 2 3/4 from pap and mb at 75 degrees. The short pin distance creates more side rotation giving you more skid to get your thru the short oil pattern and also giving you a nice strong arcing reaction in the back. I had some doubts in the back of my mind with the shorter pin distance from the pap but it worked like he said. On shorter/drier lane condition this ball gets down the lane with great ease and produces a strong arching reaction in the back with great carry. Love the ball.

Try a weaker ball something like the Jazz or even a wrath. However use a layout that will get the ball to roll rather then flip. Try something like a pin in palm (Rico) layout. Or even a pin on PAP or Pin on VAL layout. If it is a short oil pattern, you may want a ball that is weak enough (Jazz) with a rolling layout that way the weak nature of the core/cover help it clean the heads and mid with the short oil but the layout will help it not flip and give you more control as it gets into the dry.

For shorter oil patterns that are fresh, like the Cheetah and Viper patterns,  I love my pin up polished resurgence.  If I can play right, it rolls very smooth and doesn't jerk at all.  If you are referring to a medium oil pattern that's broken down and tight, the two new Wraths look great.

I haven't drilled the DF yet, read the reviews in the Columbia section for both wraths and the jazz.  I would imagine with the same drill, the DF would go longer and be more angular being a pearl version and probably hook slightly less.  I would also imagine both would be significanlty stronger than the jazz.

ok.. tnx for your suggestion scoot... seems like i'm just getting the jazz right now.. will just update you once i got it drilled..
another question, which do you think is better, the adjustable thumb slug or using the switch grip slugs??
