Heavy oil-Resurgence
Medium to Medium-Heavy- Momentum and/or Rival depending on whether you need more length and backend or more midlane and a smoother backend.
Light to Medium- Wrath Dead Flush
Light- Jazz
Spare ball- White Dot

This is what my arsenal will soon look like. Layout wise it depends on what kind of rev/speed you have I like to keep it around 4 to 4 1/2 pin to pap. I also like pin down drillings. A lot of that depends on what kind of roll you want from each ball....

Pin placements are a huge factor in determining what layout would be the best for you.  IMO, surface is the most important, pin placement being second. So for determining what is the best layout for you, you should consult your local pro shop operator who should know your game better than any of us.

I would second the above poster for arsenal choice... but I have not thrown a jazz, nor seen one in action.

Do you know you Positive Axis Point (PAP)?? Your PAP should be used for all drillings in order to get the reaction you desire for each ball.

The strongest drilling would be a 3 3/8 inch pin to PAP. This will give you the most hook in oil. The farther away you put the pin from your PAP the longer your ball will go down the lane before making its move, with a stronger backend reaction.

It really depends on what kind of conditions you bowl on and how early/late you want the ball to enter its roll. Like stated by the machine, your pro shop operator should be able to help you with all of this. If he can't I would recommend finding one who can.

You should drill it 3 3/8 with a 75  degree mass bias with no bevel. Thats what ebonite told me. HAHAHA

Visit the Strike Zone Pro Shop in Brunswick, GA!!! Silver level coaches Wesley Jones and Dave Sill would be glad to help you.  www.tgistrikezone.com

Columbia stuff doesnt have MB so dont worry about MB. The 3 3/8 is leverage. This will give you the most over all ball reaction throughout the lane. You will see good head and midlane read with a strong continuation off the breakpoint. Now you can make a ball skid and flip harder or roll faster. However depending on what you pick you may not see the reaction happen, and you may never see it if you put a real rolling layout on a ball. Something like pin on PAP is the fastest you can make a ball roll. You will get more backend out of leverage but you wont get a ball to roll faster. Yet for true heavy oil you dont want to have to rely on your ball flipping in the back to get to the pocket. You wont see it because there will be to much oil for a flippy ball to ever transition and grab when there isnt much dry area.
