« on: October 22, 2009, 11:10:10 AM »
is the full swing a black widow in the columbia line just renamed coverstock and all. i looked over alot of reviews and videos and something that jump out at me. to raise my curiosity thinking about ordering a full swing so i was wondering. or does it just seem to have similar motion going down the lane?

IMHO, the Full Swing has a different and more pronounced reaction on the backend.

The core is shaped different than the gas mask core from the BW. Also, the Full Swing hits a lot harder than the original BW.

I'm selling lots of the Full Swing and both the crankers and the strokers appear to like the ball reaction.

Not sure about the Full Swing but if I remember right I believe someone told me a while back that the Track Kinetic was pretty much the same ball as the original Black Widow.

Since you are a lefty and a stroker, you probably have to deal with having trouble getting the ball to make the turn at the end of the pattern.

IMHO, put a strong layout, such as a 4 X 4 with a 2 or 2.5 inch Pin Buffer on the Full Swing and you will have a nice ball reaction.

As I mentioned in another topic, the Full Swing is alot like the BW but the difference is more continuation on the backend and through the pins.  The FS is a definite "sleeper" ball right now.  If bowlers will learn to trust the Columbia product like they did years ago, Columbia is back on the map.  Columbia's stuff right now, top to bottom, is flat out amazing. Doug Becker told me at the Demo he hosted that he has 4 of them laid out different and at different surface preps.  The FS and Bedlam are a 1-2 punch for mediums to heavier mediums everyone should look at.

Columbia has gotten back on the map. I would not say that the Full Swing is a Black Widow in disguise, the Full Swing has more midlane reaction compared to the original Black Widow and the backend of the Full Swing is strong but controllable. If anything, I would say that the Sting and the Full Swing are closer in comparison but even in a comparison between those 2 I give the edge to the Full Swing. Columbia hit the nail on the head with the FS.

I totally agree with all of you. I've tried the Black Widow Sting on a Hammer Demo day and it's a great compliment to the original Black Widow. The Sting is earlier up front. Then i tried a Full Swing on a Demo Day and i can say this ball is like the Sting and Original Black Widow put together. The FS should of had a Hammer label on it honestly. I tested the FS on a long tight pattern and it was amazing. I believe this will put Columbia back on the map along with the Bedlam. I love that ball. It is very angular. Cover will have to be tweak for different types of players do the length the ball gets naturally.
