Little help please
« on: May 13, 2010, 01:56:26 AM »
I am looking for a ball to use between the Pure Swing and the Sharp Noize.  For when the oil depletes or carries down and the PS is too strong, but the SN is not strong enough.  Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

The pure swing is a true medium oil bowling ball.  What kind of bowling conditions are you combating?  The more information you provide, the more we can help.

It is hard not knowing more info about your game but a freeze might fit in there nicely. Its earlier and not as long as a SN but not near as strong as a PS.

Thanks for the info.  I do have a Freeze, but it's drilled for even drier of a condition.  I have been looking at the burst and think that it may work in that spot.
Thanks again

Most of your equipment seems to be either pearlized or polished reactive.  You might want to pick up a hybrid with some surface to fit somewhere in the middle.  It will handle the oil and carrydown but not snap off the mark.  Give it early roll to handle the carry down but lessen the snap.

I find Hybrids to be the best choice for transitions because of how consistent they are.  In order to get a Columbia ball that would be comparabale to a hybrid I might try a Bedlam and take the surface down to 2000 matte no polish.  This will smooth the breakpoint reaction but give it power to handle the surface.

I also happen to think the Total Bedlam is one of the best balls ever made, but to use that you'd have to put a very weak drill on it to tame that beast for this purpose, maybe do something like a 45 x 4 x 65 or something similar based on your PAP.

You can't go wrong either way.  I also love the full swing, but that ball struggles in carry down for me.

Not sure what your looking for as both balls are not far off from one another.  IF  you are looking for something  longer then the two balls you mentioned, I would advise a Freeze.

If you are looking for something were you can move in deeper and circle the ball a bit more then I would advise possibly a Full Swing or Total Bedlam.  Both balls allow for you to play deeper and have enough energy to get back to the pocket.

Just depends on what your comfortable with.

This is a simple one. The Cool Noize was the ball that fit into this gap. For some reason if you can not find one the BURST will be released on Thursday of this week...

Good luck with you new ball
