Hey guys, I had a friend looking to get rid of his Resurgence, as he was moving to an all Roto-Grip arsenal. Anyway, the ball is drilled so awkwardly, I feel that a full plug and redrill is going to be needed. We are both left handed, but I'm just curious as to what reaction I would expect out of it. He's a low tracker (3 1/2 over) and with this drilling the pin actually goes PAST his VAL. I just quickly laid the ball out according to my PAP, and it is:
70* x 2 3/4" x 10*
Pretty much looks like a Label Drill except the CG was where the PIN normally is on a label drill...
Pin = P
CG = CG
Weight Hole = X
---------------------
--P------------------
---X-----O-O---------
------CG-------------
---------------------
----------O----------
---------------------
That's about as close as I can get it... now I'm new to the dual angle aspect, but I've been trying to understand it with my pro-shop. The 70 degrees for the first angle promotes quite a bit of length. The 2 3/4" pin is a pretty controllable smoother reaction, and won't flare as much as a stacked leverage drill. The 10 degrees on the final angle means that the ball won't finish very hard. Am I correct in this assumption? If so that would mean the ball, hypothetically speaking would go long and arc into the pocket, not raelly something I'm looking for.
I have the Rival, and that ball is one of my all time favorites, so I decided to trade for its brother so to speak, seeing as they were released at the same time. What kind of drill would you recommend this ball so I can get a noticable difference. The Rival is roughly 4 7/8 Pin to PAP, CG kicked out MAYBE 5-10 degreees.
Thanks for reading!
