Anyone polish their Full swing
« on: October 23, 2009, 04:11:47 AM »
I have a full swing with out of box surface. Just wondering if any of you tried yours polished yet. Please let me know how it reacts compared to box or higher grits.

The only reason to polish this ball would be to get it through the front if there's a problem in your center with choppy heads.  From what I've seen/heard, this ball is pretty clean thru the front with plently of pop at the end.  I think polish might make it squirty.

Monster,
I have a Full Swing, 5x4 layout, which places the pin above my ring finger and the MB approx an inch to the right of my thumb.  I took the cover to 4000, added Factory Finish polish, and then added Delayed Reaction polish.  The result is the same clean look thru the fronts, a more subtle read of the midlane (the stronger core still will not let the ball scoot past the break...a good thing in my opinion), and a strong arc on the backend.  The ball loses no energy going down the lane, but doesn't jerk off the spot.

OOB is 4000 abralon...that surface gives the ball a clean look through the fronts, but the cover/core combination make it very responsive in the midlane.  As such, it was one of the strongest balls in my bag.  Adding just factory finish, the ball indeed was squirty (as CHawk described below).  Delayed Reaction polish on top of it took away some of the backend reaction and overall hook...creating the perfect benchmark ball.

I just shot 847 with the Full Swing, so I can certainly attest to the ball's versatility!

Hope you find this helpful!
Paul
