Has anyone altered the surface on their Big Shot? What grit & ball reaction.
I have oob & it seems to go a little long on our THS. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Speed at pins 15.6 to 16.2
Rev rate 325 to 350

Kingdom...
I have changed the surface on the Big Shot several times in the last year.
4000 abralon pads don't seem to be quite enough if you have any carry down.
1000 grit gave me strong midlane and strong backend. 2000 grit seemed to work for me overall on THS. My wife likes hers with 2000 Abralon with light polish. This gives her good backend reaction on THS. Her Action Max is 2000 Abralon and no polish. This gives the Max a smooth strong backend. The best thing you can do for both of these balls if you have lost some reaction is the hot water bath.
The Action Max really soaks up the oil, more so than the Big Shot. I hope this gives you some idea of things you can do to change the surface and deep clean.

I took it down to 400 grit and then added a good dose of rubbing compound, Brunswick's Rough Buff. This got good length and a slightly earlier lane read with plenty of backend and hitting power.
The standard 4000 grit was fine for me; I just wanted to try something a little different. Using a Brunswick compound on Columbia ball is VERY different.

I love it OOB on our house shot. First ball thrown for league every week...

A half ten is not a great shot. No, you shouldn't have carried it.

Thank you for the suggestions. I now have a couple of things to try. Charlest about how much earlier of a read did the 400....rough buff combo give you?

Jim,
Please realize one thing first, that a lot depends on how much Rough Buff you apply and how hard. It is a fairly aggressive compound. That said, I got about 1.5 - 2 ft earlier read, on average, on medium to medium+ oil. It made the backend slightly more even (still a good deal of backend; pins till go flying) and it handled slightly more oil.
