I tried to search for this, but I can't go back further than the past 30 days, even after trying the methods in the FAQ thread.
My Black Chaos received two 6" long, semi-deep cuts during my league last Monday night. Fortunately the pro shop was able to get the majority of the gouges out by resurfacing to 600-grit. I'd like to bring it back to the factory surface, but my pro shop operator doesn't remember what it is.
From what I've researched, most websites (including Columbia's) shows a matte factory finish. Can any pro shop gurus elaborate? I'm willing to try other surfaces, but I want to start with the factory finish, then adjust from there as needed.
Many thanks in advance.

Cant help you with the OOB bit, but try clicking on this link (http://"http://www.ballreviews.com/Forum/Preferences.asp?ForumDays=2555&NumOfItems=100&UseMessaging=1&submit1=Modify&save=1") to get your ability to see the older posts again. After clicking on it, dont go back into your Preferences because doing so will disable it, just test it out.

Seems to me that most balls in those days were around 600 wet sanded. I would use a 500 abralon pad, and they finish it with a 1000 abralon pad. If more length is needed, go to a 2000 pad.

Thanks for everyone's replies. I have this ball drilled aggressive for heavy and longer lane patterns. I can't remember the actual pin/cg placements, but it is drilled for a very heavy early roll. I'll keep the 600 wet-sand finish for now, and then adjust as needed.
Thanks again for everyone's help.
