Bonanza II Value Ball - What is it?
« on: February 17, 2005, 01:07:47 PM »
I picked one up on EBay.  I was under the impression that the ball was either a blem of a Columbia, Track, or AMF.  Is that the case?

It really doesn't look like any balls they have had in the past few years (hence the blem).  Is Bonanza II just leftover weight blocks and coverstocks or is it actually a blem of a current ball?

It has the surface finish for SKU #039010150 and its serial number is 4YF00304.  It kind of a pukey green-brown with silver and brown swirls.

Any hints on this mystery or should I just drill for symetrical core and have at it.  I love a challenge.

Any help will be appreciated.  Go Eagles!  (oops)

Take a pic of it, and post it. We'll probably be able to figure it out.

I bought one of these from beans and drilled it up and its one of the best balls I have. Mine is a backyard bully color blem. I was lucky, I got one with decent specs. Some of the ones I have seen have horrible specs and would be a nightmare for your driller to punch up for you..

The bottom line is they are a great value IF you can get one with good specs..

Here's the link.  It will download slow since I increased the photo resolution to get as much detail as possible.

Box also says 4 oz top wt and it looks like about 4-5" pin out

Thanks again for all the help!!

Okay, I bought 3 potluck Bonanzas from Beans (couldn't beat the price!), so if anybody can help me figure out what they are it would be greatly appreciated.  I took pics and also scanned the box label.  None of the labels have a pin given.  2 of the balls look like they have a mark for the CG (a little star punch in the middle of the 300), and one doesn't.  I'm only planning on drilling up the 14lb right now, so any guesses are helpful.

1st ball:  14lb 0oz.  Its brown and black and has a clear coating.  If you hold it just right you can see the bonanza label shadow on the brown/black. I can't find a CG punch on this one.

2nd ball: 14lb 15oz. Pin plug is missing.

#3 could be a Titan.... Definetly a Rule or Titan tho...#2 could very easily be a Big Bully...and #1 could be a Hex-Plosion...The resembles the solid single color of the Hex-Plosion

JOBLOW69 -  Bought mine from Beans Pro Shop.  He had some listed on ebay, but also has them listed here - http://www.ballreviews.com/Forum/Replies.asp?TopicID=77584&ForumID=26&CategoryID=5

Figured you can't beat the price, especially since most sellers on ebay want close to $20 for shipping!  NIB ball, won't worry about anybody else having the same ball, and I can play around with the cover without feeling bad about messing up the ball!  Shipping was quick - paid for them Thursday and got them tonight!
