Action whacked!

I recently bought an Action drilled it up 3 3/8 stacked.  The problem is the ball moves about 3 more boards than my savage flip.  Has anyone else had this problem.  Strong drilling = little reaction.  The ball still hits like a truck just doesn't move like I've heard, seen, and thought.  Going to try it this weekend at the Greater Ozarks to see what it does.  Do you think taking the surface down would help?  Suggestions wanted.

I threw an Action for a minute...didn't hook like I thought it would either even with a strong drilling.  I've heard this from a few people, but like you said it still hits like a truck and overall is a very good ball.  

I'll be throwing my Action Packed for the first time 2morrow in league...can't wait for that!

What I have noticed with columbia pearl cover stocks just need the surface adjusted some.  After that they seem to roll great

the Action is not a pearlized cover out of box its 1200 grit dull.
The Action Packed does have the pearlized cover

Ok, here again how much oil are you playing in??  The Action needs oil to hold it from hooking.  Most THS's won't hold the Action long enough to keep it from hooking too early.  Also the RG rating of the ball is really low (2.457) so the ball is digging at all times.  So unless you are bowling on a flood, the Action is useless because it will burn up on your medium walled THS's you have these days.  Take the ball and Abralon the surface to 2000 and put some factory finish polish on it to get it to retain some energy, that should help alot.

The ball is finsihing so its not an energy problem, I mean I carried well the ball just didn't hook as much.  The other pairs looked like they were hooking, but our pair was dead.  Maybe I just ran into a flood.

The cover is not pearl, the COLOR is pearl.

If it were pearlized it would say Pearlized M80 or Polished M80 like the Professional was. The Action is definitely a solid coverstock. At least it rolls like one.
