Action Packed-first impressions.
« on: February 08, 2006, 12:35:11 PM »
Had a chance to punch out an Action Packed and throw it today.  Drilled it 4x3-3/4, no fourth hole, OOB finish.  Very smooth throught the heads with a clean read at the buff towards the hole.  Not jumpy, controlled.  Carry was very good.  Two ringing 10-pins were the only non-carrying shots the entire night and those were situations where the ball had expended a fair amount of energy getting to the hole.  I thought this would be a good replacement for the Absolute Inferno and was pleased at the first night out with it.  The Action Packed has a similar read to the lanes as the Absolute with a little more pronounced charge to the pocket.  Almost looked like a particle pearl in it's reaction type, which will invariably mean that the U-Turn Particle Pearl might not get any holes in her any time soon.  BTW, not the ugliest ball you've ever seen, either.

House Hack.  Nothing more.  Nothing less.  And, according to my therapist, that's not so bad.

Nine league games into this ball's lifetime and I've been extremely satisfied.  Sets of 714, 742 and 735 tonight with the last 17 off the sheet(180-255-300).  Got to sub tonight due to the inclement weather and wasn't able to get much practice.  I still made poor shots and missed two easy spares so I've got nobody to blame for my mistakes but yours truly.  If you're in the market for a controllable reactive pearl with phenomenal carrying potential, look no further than the Action Packed from Columbia300.

Yes this ball is great.  Not jumpy at all, the only time I missed the hole was if I was made a horrible shot, and didn't carry only if I grabbed it.  I think this might be the best release from Columbia in a while.

Definately better than the EPX and might I add...in my opinion a lot better ball than it's older brother Action as well.
