C300 Action Users/Owners - Your experiences with it?!
« on: June 13, 2006, 05:39:08 AM »
Hey All,

I've been eyeing this ball for quite some time.
Wanted to know if any of you Action users would like to chime in.

Maybe you can help me by answering the basic questions like...

1. Your bowling style (Revrate - speed - rotation - track)
2. Layout on the Action
3. What conditions have you used it on
4. Have you altered the surface? (Was it versatile?)

Thanks all!

I am a tweener with average ball speed. I drilled it up with the pin beneath the bridge and the cg kicked out.  The pin is close to 4 in so the cg ends up pretty low.  I put a balance hole 4 in from the center of my grip on a line between the center of my grip and the cg.  I get a very smooth rolling reaction that works great on PBA patterns.  It allows me to stand right of center and play down the outside (7-9 board) on every pattern by altering the surface.  It is capable of hooking a lot if I take it to 600 grit. It does almost nothing when waxed up.  I'll wax it and take a little off with a grey scotch brite to get a nice snap on the backend.  I've also sanded it to 1200 and 2000 to get it further down the lane.  Obviously you can't do this in league, but I could use this ball on anything if allowed to adjust the surface.

Everyone get all the breaks but me.  I earn every pin I get.

I had a 2nd one drilled up 6 x 3 now it is good ball for oil, my first one was drilled 4 x 2 1/2 and hooked in my back swing. The 6 x 3 ball revs up hold until it sniffs dry and boom off it goes to the pocket. My speed is on the higher side probably 17 mph at the pins and rev rate is between 280-320 somewhere with almost no axis tilt and 60 degrees of rotation off my hand. If a cover on a bll is too strong most balls stand up and go left for me way too quickly. That is one reason you will see my dump brand new stuff so quick all the time, plus i am just plains nuts. My pin ended up over the left edge of the middle finger it looks like a left hand drilling if you dont pay attention to were the cg is placed.
