One of the kids in the junior program needs a spare ball. Instead of buying one, I told him I'd dig something out of the basement. I never threw it, but I've heard that as far as polyester goes, the yellow dot could move. Should I try and find something "less" or should this serve his purpose?

A guy was using one last night as a spare ball. It was well polished, and went straight as an arrow, even when the lanes got really dry (by todays standards, that is...)

Thanks for the replies. I figured if he threw some polish on it would work, but never hurts to double check. So that's one ball donated, umpteen to go.

I've been using a dullish Lane#1 XXXL(plastic also)nd loving it on synthetics compared to my white dot which on a 1/2 board miss.....bloop in the gutter! It skidded so much in the heads!

The three smooth consistent boards of hook I get with the XXXL is fantastic.

Similar to a yellow dot in my opinion!

I'm still using mine as a spare ball too, works perfect with or without polish but for sure better with a good shine. Bought it in 84 when it was the hottest ball going
