They did when Columbia's covers were made by Columbie, it's a wait and see now that Ebonite is making their stuff.

Will it be Ebonite's covers or Columbia's version?

The real columbia covers (start of company-action line) lasted longer and were easyer to maintane then any other company who uses a filler in there ball. Simply out of the big dog companys in the past if you wanted a long lasting cover you threw columbia.

Carl- "Yes it was ricks ball."

Scoot- "Well that is how he lived. See it is good to have a 14lb ball sometimes."

I know I couldnt pass it up heard good things about it. this is my first columbia ball and probably my last when ebonite makes the covers but my proshop has a lot of the actions and other old columbia balls for 99 so I might buy a couple more old ones

Some of the early particle covers like TEC had some longevity issues, I hear, but Superflex is right up there with PK18, Soaker, and Activator for longevity.  M80 is part of the new generation of long-lasting covers as well.  The Action Max should last quite a while.
