That's an excellent move by the USBC...for once. We all know that the ball is the most expensive part (not counting high dollar shoes and bags). It would be great if they pro shops could offer reduced drilling rates or do discounted/no-cost grips and slugs. Maybe the USBC could offset the drilling costs are well.

i personally think that all ball compaones shold do the same with balls they plan to discontinue. i got to do whatever it takes to save the sport.

This is also a good question that will never be answered. I for one will find it hard to support the new equipment from the buyout. But, hey I am just an average bowler that loves the sport.....no big loss right.

Well I hope that is where this equipment went.  I lost a 250-275 ball order
to the merger and Ebonite refused to put it thru even though the order
was IN FACT placed before it was announced.   I tried for weeks on end
to get it put right and got stonewalled until finally it was announced
that they would not fulfill any of the closeout/discontinued orders and
would "trash" the balls.    If in fact this is the end result of what
happened then I agree with the decision.  I just hope none of the stuff
shows up on the market.

Thanks Joe.  I remember that quite a few people on here lost some of those orders.  I always wondered how warranty and defects would have been handled.  I guess it was better for the company to donate, take a tax break, and help out some bowlers in the process, than to deal with inventory, sales, and everything else.

I wonder if any of those youth bowlers will get a chance to throw the Phoenix!
