Hussman- Good/Bad Feedback
« on: June 01, 2005, 06:18:21 PM »
Hey all, I offered Hussman tonight $145 shipped for his new professional. He agreed. I told him that I wanted COD, so that both parties could not be screwed. He declines and says, he just wants paypal or money orders. And next thing I know the ball is sold 20 minutes later. Doesnt this seem a little suspicious? On my part, I am good, as the delivery man arrives, I py or I dont get the ball, but, on his side, Not wanting to ship Cash on delivery, is a little shady. But what do I know?

Don't see any wrong-doing in Hussman's part.

I totally agree. The seller didn't do anything wrong here. If he did not want to do a COD, thats his own perogative. I have ask for sellers to do COD's in the past and if they said no, I would just move on..

Don't see anything wrong with what Hussman did. You wanted COD; he didn't. When one party does not agree to the terms ...  He could have waited a little longer or just told you "no deal".

Not wanting COD, Is NOT shady.

There are tons of things that can wrong with COD:

+ I've had people refuse delivery TWICE (trusting soul am I; foolish also I be.)

+ The delivery service is not supposed to let you examine or open the package until you pay for it. He could ship rocks.

+ COD is a pain in the you-know-where. There are additional forms to fill out; there is an extra charge, use to be $5.00; now it may be more.  So, you, the buyer, are also repsonsible for paying for this.

+ With UPS you can ask for bank check or they can give you a bogus money order. WIth USPS you can't ask for anything; thay can pay with a personal check or worse.

Just too much of a hassle.

Buy from someone with a good reputation (use paypal, money order or bank check) or buy it from an Internet dealer or your own pro shop.

Hussman, $150 is NOT a ridiculously low price for a Professional. Let's disabuse ourselves of that notion. Been seeing them all over for $147.50 plus shipping.

However, this topic should never have been raised. You both should have worked out terms, without being rude to one another, which necessitated public explanations here. You BOTH decide what makes and what breaks the deal; then discuss it.
