If Columbia really wanted to make money.....
« on: August 18, 2004, 11:51:48 AM »
Why didn't they just come back out with the Cuda/C Solid?  This is the one ball everyone talks about(along with Danger Zone and Blue Hammer) as the best balls of all time.  I think it would have sold huge.  I still have one with like 6 games on it(really.) but I'd love a new one.  A brand new one and a pearl cuda have both gone on ebay for more than $180 NIB.

Seems like a more logical choice than the Ricochet.  That sort of came out of nowhere.  It's not like they had a poll or something for it.

p.s.  Another Retro on the Red and Blue Pulse wouldn't have been bad either.  Drop them down to the midprice range...I'd dump all of my Brunswick stuff and just throw 2 red pulses and 2 blue pulses.  Seriously.

The regular Cuda C was superflex.  I still have the box.

Maybe they changed the cover over the years?  I think the Beast used to be Flexcell, now it's Superflex.  I'll have to check my box to be positive.  Maybe it used to be straight Flexcell, then they added mica later on.

Or they could quit coming out with a ball ever week (sometimes two).

DP3,

The original Cuda/C was Flexcell.  The SuperCuda was SuperFlex but if I'm not mistaken they didn't change the label or anything (that was ages ago ), it just had a more redish brown color.   So you may have a SuperCuda.  I think the original was far better.  The SuperFlex was just too agressive for the conditions in our area at the time.

I do agree that bringing out old balls without having to put much research in them besides slapping together a proven coverstock on an old core can lead to nice profits even selling as a medium priced ball.

I don't think one or two winners though make a real big difference to these companies.

I would guess that having newly researched losers hurts a bit though!

Hey, I checked the box and inspected it.  Turns out I have a practically brand new Cuda C in a Super Cuda box.

I have an undrilled original pearl Cuda/C, and the box says "Flexcel G2."
