I got my ball drilled last night. 15lb 3oz, 2 inch pin, 2.7oz top weight. You and I sound similar in our speed. I throw the ball too fast on oil, so my driller punched ball out for max leverage. Pin is to right of ring about 1 inch and below about 1/2 inch. He calls this cg leverage. This looks similar to Brunswick E1 drilling. Center of grip is a little to left of cg, maybe 1/2 inch or so. He wanted to give me max leverage because of my speed and because I don't have a lot of revs. With the box finish on fresh heavy tournament oil he had at the house, I still tended to throw ball too hard. He had me work on slowing down, and cocking hand in more of a loaded position to gain some revs. The ball would strike when thrown relatively slowly (slow for me anyway.) This was standing with right foot on 22 and throwing over 3rd arrow. I tried outside line tonight after league and I liked it better, standing right foot on eight, throwing over 1st arrow. I threw strikes on shots where I cut the speed a little and loaded my wrist a bit. Balls that hit the pocket more straight did not carry. If I threw the ball a little too far outside but at a slower speed and with some wrist, the ball would come back to pocket and carry. The ball wants to have some revs to strike otherwise it leaves funny pocket splits. Also, it has a 1200 grit factory finish. For my speed, my ball driller(also a silver level coach) recommended taking it down to 800 grit. We are going to try sanding it next week. The ball seems to respond to less speed and more revs on heavy oil.
Hope this helps and good luck to you.
