Columbia Pure Swing drillings/surface - update

What works for you and what surface on medium oil conditions?  I am thinking pin down with the polish removed.  Maybe, the mb slightly kicked out a little. 
 
I want it to be stronger than my t-road pearl, pin up, and maybe around the strength of my pin down rapid fire.

Update:
 
The PS is drilled pin over middle with the MB kicked out a little and  the polished removed and it's a pretty impressive ball.  I compared it  to my TRP on a house shot 40 feet, 6 to 6, med-heavy oil, and it's  earlier than the TRP(expected because it's 4k) and it drives pretty  hard.  It has pretty good midlane and strong backend roll.   It saved up  the energy quite nicely.  The first couple of games I could not get the  ball to roll well at all but once it had a few lines in it the  performance of the ball changed.  I stood at 20 and rolled it around 11-12 at the arrows to about the 8 board and it make a nice turn at the break point.  If I missed and hit 13 it held and struck.   I am quite impressive with the ball.  It's an older  release and buddies still has some at 95 bucks.  Well worth it.
 
My angle on the lanes doesn't sound too impressive but it's a line that if the ball doesn't have a lot of energy it will leave a 5-10(left handed).  A friend who is a stroker was using a pin down prodigy on the right side playing straight up around 6 and if missed or was too fast he would almost leave the 5-7.  It's a goofy house as far as carry.

To be totally honest the PS is a medium oil ball at best with strong drilling layouts in OOB finish..  My PS is the third weakest ball in my bag, and it is drilled pin down close to the bridge and MB kicked out at about 45 degrees.  The ball is very smooth and controllable in all parts of the lane. 


2010 is the first time joining a league since 1999. Over a 10 year lay off and I haven't lost much of my game.

Thanks for the reply.  I was talking to my buddy and we're thinking of making the PS similar to the T-road pearl and have an all Ebonite lineup.  It could like like this in descending order of strength.
 
Total Bedlam(1k)
715T(OOB)
Mission(polished)
920T(2k polished)
Pure swing
 
And a natural and a t-zone spare ball(my league ball) on the bottom end.
 
What do you think of this lineup?

Using surface differences between bowling balls is a good idea, but with the RG. and Diff. numbers, you would think the line up would be different.  I don't know what your layouts are and that could be the reason why you may have it in that order.  If I had those balls I would line them up in this order:

 

RG/Diff:           (15 lbs) Ball: 

2.48/.050        Mission (1k)

2.52/.052        715 T (2k)

2.53/.055        Total Bedlam (2k polished)

2.57/.057         920 T (4k)

2.52/ .056        Pure Swing (pearl)

2.55/.038         Natural (urethane)

Based on the numbers your list is on point.  My experience with the balls I have point me in slightly different direction.
 
 
Interestingly enough, my total rolls very well in heavy oil.  Perhaps, I just match up well with it.  The Mission has not performed as well.  Both balls are pin down and the TB does have a hole in the P3 quad while the Mission only has a correctional hole.  That could be part of the reason.  I found that on most house shots, the 1k with polish on the Mission works very well.  When I used it OOB on some slick conditions it did not give me as good as results as the Total.  My Total flares about 7 inches even though it is pin down.
 
 
I tried the 920T at 4k and 2k and I might bring it back to 4k and skip the polish.  I tried it at 1k and it picks up about 3 feet later than the Mission.   It's pin down as well with a hole around P3.

715T AT 2000 handles oil much better than the Mission at 1000.....IMHO

Thanks for your input.  How were they laid out?
 
I hope it doesn't handle more oil than my Total Bedlam because I will to have to shuffle the order again..and change surfaces too!   I am looking forward to drilling the 715T soon.

I had both at...60x4.5x35 the Mission at 1000ab, the 715t at 2000ab.....the 715T was just purely more ball, 4-5 boards stronger and started up a foot earlier for me. I actually also have a 505T at 2000ab (drilled the same as 715T and Mission), which is my favorite ball, and also 2-3 stronger than the Mission was......
Just recently I put the 715T at 1000 and kept the 505T at 2000......On a heavier house shot the 715T is  3-4 boards stronger than 505T and a slight bit earlier.  One my regular house shot, I see the same but the 715T is not usable past first game at 1000ab.
I like the Track "T" balls a lot! I dont have the Mission anymore! I also have recently purchased a Bank Pearl which compliments the T balls very well.....
The Mission was a good ball for me, but not a great ball for me.

Ive never thrown or even seen a Total Bedlam thrown in person so I cant say how it compares to the 715T, but I can say, the 715T is a good oiler and a much stronger ball than i thought it would be......it also carries everything....lol

My mission doesn't seem to like house shots with the OOB surface.  I took it to 1k and put a little storm finish 2 on it and it works pretty good.  On flatter patterns, the shine has to come off and left at 1k or 2k. It seems to roll good on flat patterns but it's not a real oiler.  I am not sure how it got a 53 from BTM.  My Mission was used and that could have made a difference.  It's a good benchmark ball though.  

 

How do you have your Track stuff laid out?  I only have one track punched and it's a 920T and is laid out pin under bridge with the mb out a little and a  small hole at p3.   It's real smooth.  From reading some reviews, I thought it could be a strong ball, and it turns out either the reviewers have super revs or the right side(I am left handed) is that much more worn.  I think it will be a great sport shot ball where the backends are stripped and it's medium length.

 

After seeing what PS can do I regret selling my NIB Full swing for the 920T.   Maybe, it will shine once I get into some tournaments where it matches up.

The 920T is a nice smooth roller but being hybrid it doesnt handle the oil nearly as well as the 715 or 505....
The 505T is very smooth! The 715T is stronger off the spot than the 505T and stronger overall...

I let the price of the 920T and reviews influence me.  It's not that it's a bad ball.  It's just not what I intended it for.  I think the 715T I have will fit the bill and 920T will go under the Mission and maybe even the PS depending on the surface I am on.  By drilling it pin down I wonder if I smoothen it too much. 

 

I do have a NIB 930T.  I am still undecided how to drill it and even if I need to.

That's what I heard too.  I haven't seen that much to need it or the total bedlam.  I bought them both specifically for pot games where PBA and Kegel patterns were put on the lanes after Friday night league and Saturday open play and the backends weren't cleaned.  Since then I decided sleep was more important than bowling. :)
