Just came accross an Old Piranha/C  its the solid blue one.  It's in need of resurfacing and I was just wondering if anybody here might know what grit the original factory finish was.  looking on bowlingballreviews it only says matte.  I figure its somewhere between 320 and 800 but I don't know for sure.  anybody know?  thanks

Wow, its been a while,  my guess is that is was around 500-600 wet sanded.

This ball definitely came sanded OOB.  I am 110% sure about that.

i agree,  what difference does it make what the ball came out of the box 10-12 years ago.  that was probably a wet sanded cover.  and i am pretty sure that in those days,  most columbia's came out about 500-600.

but today is different.  i would use a 500 abralon pad to start, and then go up to a 1000 pad.  this should work well in med. to heavy oil.

and if you need a little more length,  go to a 2000 pad.  etc.
