Dr. Jekyll: pearl or solid or combo?
« on: April 25, 2006, 05:09:56 AM »
Anyone know for sure (not a guess, please) what this ball's cover is?

The Columbia website says "Super-Flex" which usually means a solid. Even the color description does not say pearl. It is finished, "500 grit sanded, polished to 2000 grit", with the finish they usually use on pearls.

So, does anyone have the truth from a Columbia insider?
(Note: "How to win friends and influence people" - last time I asked them via a private email, they got very arrogant and smart-mouthed me by saying, "It didn't make any difference." I mean if they don't know, how can you explain it to them? I haven't talked to them since.)

Well not being a rep or anything take this as you will.  But owning several balls that are with the Superflex coverstock if it doesn't say pearlized it is the solid version of superflex cover stock.  The reason its listed as 2000 polish is final finish is with degree 2000 grit polish.

I have had great sucess with the superflex cover stock as my super trooper has well over a 1000 games on it and reacts like it did new.
