a ball suggestion
« on: January 06, 2014, 10:09:22 PM »
Greetings
What ball would you recommend to go along with my "Enigma - Oath - Freeze Hybrid" ?

I would like the new "Crazy Antics" but I dont know if that would be the smart thing to do  8) of course it certainly wouldnt be the 1st time I did something weird with my bowling gear  :o

Maybe if I left my Enigma and Oath at OOB and put some polish on the "Crazy Antics" then do you think that would prevent any overlapping???

The crazy antics is a totally different animal then the vow and depending on what your looking for the crazy would be more ball. The vow has more midlane but the crazy IMO would handle more volume

Thanks Mike, if I got the CA I would drill it rather tame, maybe, a label drill, however, there are to many to choose from :-)

So now I'm thinking the CA, Erup.Pro, Take Down, or the Mass Erup. ;-)

I myself and trying to decide on whether or not to drill myself up a take down or smackdown. I've thrown them already but for what I have personally I can't decide. I have a while before I decide anyway. I love how my ca is drilled. As a matter if fact I just shot 260 234 with it tonight had to switch to my 400a game 3 so I can't count that game

Mike-Smackdown is a great benchmark ball that can handle some oil. It has a strong midlane with a continuous arching backend. I am going to try a Takedown to fit inbetween my Smackdown and Eruption Pro then maybe get a Crazy Antic to fit on top.

Oh I know how it works for me I've thrown both of them
With the same layout they just weren't mine. I just can't decide on which one to
Get. I want the smack down but my head tells me the take down. I've already talked with the guy that does my stuff and we are basically stuck right now. After selling 6 balls I'm now down to my crazy antics, original taboo, 400a, low flare, and blue hammer. I know where they would fit but the predicament is what ball would be better with the layouts we have picked out. Smack down would be above bridge or to right of ring finger with cg in Palm. Take down would be pin under bridge cg kicked. And the surfaces would both be altered and polished. We just can't really decide on one or the other I know I can't go wrong and I'll be happy with either one, but what the better choice would be is the right question

I see it a little different. The Creazy Antics for me is great on shorter and medium patterns with some oil, because for me it is actually very smooth drilled 55* 5 5/8 *50 pin in midle finger. I had the best look on anything from 34 to 39 feet but i can throw it on longer patterns, but that is where the original Antics shines. The Vow for me is long and plenty backend with most succes on 41-43 feet after a couple of games, drilled 55* 5 3/8 *35 Pin above bridge. Eruption Pro is same drilling as Vow and is my go to ball on medium length medium volume and can throw it on fresh and until i loft the gutter on about anything 38-41 feet. I didnt like the disruption, to long and to angular, had a 55* 6 *35 pin above middle finger but never really liked it.

With the Enigma, Oath and Freeze i would look at something in the Eruption line

500rpm, 18.5 mph and tilt is 15.

So I thought I would come back and let you all know what ball I selected. Its probably a little stronger then what I needed but not by much.

I got the *VOW* and it fits perfectly. I do keep it a little more polished then OOB but man-oh-man do I love the way this ball hits and rolls.

Are there anymore Columbia 300 balls that have the  Capsule core?? I also have the *OATH* which also has the Capsule core and with both balls having a Symmetric core it really fits my style perfectly.

The capsule core was also in one of my favorite balls, the Omen. For me, the Omen was a ball that took all of the over reaction out of the backend and gave me a very controllable arching motion.
