The Detour being slightly in the skid/flip class, even though it's a solid, might have too much surface for the condition on which you are using it. Why not just add a SMALL amount of polish to increase the length. Don't worry about the drilling as it's a done deal; it seems to be the driller's generic drilling when the bowler does not make a specific request. The surface makes a greater difference, in any case.
Be careful about asking the pro shop to polish the ball; many of them do not have levels of polish. If a ball is dull or not polished, they are likely to put a high gloss polish on it if you ask for "polish". I am suggest a small amount to increase length just enough. It often does not take much.
